Awesome phone

I have an elderly father who is 82 years old, and he struggles tremendously with anything technology. He has shown an interest in wanting a cell phone for emergency purposes, and this easy phone is pretty much built for someone exactly like him. For some reason, he gets discombobulated around computers, smart phones, tablets, or anything that requires understanding a bit of a user interface. My father is lucid, he's just completely technologically illiterate. I have tried for years to give him crash courses on how to use things that involve technology, but he's just got an analog brain. Being 82, we worry that anything could happen to him at any moment. He doesn't really need a cell phone, but it would be good to have one for emergency situations. It's the type of thing that for him, you'd rather have it and not need it, then need it and not have it. The only people he's interested in calling, are myself, my brother, and possibly a doctor or two. For him, this phone seems almost too perfect. The learning curve is not very steep at all. Surely, if you are someone familiar with smartphones, or even just regular cell phones, you can figure this one out in about two seconds. Setting it up requires a little bit of know how, but once you're set up, using it is very simple. The idea of placing pictures in preprogram buttons, rather than remembering phone numbers, or scrolling through your phone book, is easy even for him to understand. It took me years to help him learn confidently how to use a cordless phone in his house, so it's convenient that you can charge this one in the same way that you would dock a regular cordless phone. The features are few, but simplicity is the feature. For someone like my father, pressing on a button with a picture of who he'd like to call, is much simpler than the traditional methods that we all know using our smartphones. His requirements for a phone plan are very minimal as well, so having a plan with SpeedTalk mobile is absolutely adequate. It's not the type of phone that anyone would really desire, but it really fits a very specific need. I'm not sure how many people out there are like my father, in an advanced age, and technologically illiterate, but I'm willing to bet he's not the only one. All in all, it's a rather clever design for people who struggle to adopt, and learn about modern technological devices. I can also see it being advantageous for those people who struggle with memory loss, or comprehension. Both of my grandmothers suffered dementia, and while dementia may come to a point where even the simplest tasks like using a phone like this may become impossible, while they still have a semi lucid state, these types of phones can be great emergency tools. I was surprised to learn that something like this existed, and I'm happy that my father can have the peace of mind of having communication in his pocket, that he understands how to use. I think if you have special cases like my father's, then I would recommend this phone.

I like the ease of setup using the SIM cards that are compatible with this easy to use phone. The setup menus are straight forward, and I found charge time and time on charge very good. The single buttons are easy to program from the menus and the templates are a nice inclusion to make it easy to print out the right size for the square button sizes. The screen is easy to read and the charge stand keeps the phone sturdy and not tippy. This has a lot of the features of the higher cost phones but without all the features that make other phones hard to use for some folks.
