Not wanting to go down the rabbit hole of a cell phone just yet, we looked at several watch options for our 10 year old that had simple text, call and gps functions. We're about 3 days in of use and it's pretty great. First, it's lightweight. The watch band is a bit bulky so we ordered something thinner and cuter. It was easy and straightforward to activate using the QR code that popped up on the watch when you turned it on. The app for parents was easy to set up. Bonuses my kid really liked are the pet game and daily task list for "coins." I appreciate the quiet feature so it's scheduled to be off during hours I set like school and bed time. The call quality was surprisingly great as well as the voice to text messages. Overall, great fit for parents who aren't ready for the cell phone screen time fights but need to get in touch with their child.

We purchased this for our 10 year old. We did not feel he was responsive yet to have a phone but wanted a way for him to reach out to us and have communication with us. You can decide the contacts you want on the phone and we love that their are no social media ability.

If you scan the QR code in the box, the app/link on your phone may not allow activation despite having a correct Amazon order number. Go directly to the Gabb website and choose activation from there and the Amazon order number will work correctly.

My 9 years old daughter has wore the watch for a week. So far it works very good on text and call. She loves it so much. Especially the Gabb Go function, she felt in love to do the task( which parents set up the task) than she would earn many coins to feed her pet Cat!!! I'm so glad that something could encourage her to do something like housework, homework, etc. While she went to find her friends, I felt a little bit safe about her because I can reach her anytime. So recommend parents to give a smartwatch to your children to keep them safe.

Huge fan of Gabb, and the watch is generally fine (doesn't sync as much fad I would like), but an explanation anywhere (not available when purchased) on how to connect the Amazon-purchased watch to their network would have been a far better UX. Also really needs a manual to show where the emergency button is (still unsure, but kiddo pushes occasionally). Really lacked a basic user manual.
