We got this as a fun set of accent lights to place in our daughters bedroom and was a little surprised when we opened them. The lights a three different unit, wired together instead of being one complete unit - we had originally thought it was just one larger unit. The lights are easy to hang with a couple of nails through the provided holes and the cords are long enough to reach down to a wall plug but really take away from the look of the lights on the wall so we changed them to dresser top lights. This unit does require power by way of a USB unit and the controls are located about a foot or so down from the bottom of the unit attached to the cord. The light is quite bright when turned up by soft when dimmed.

These are so cute! They are much better looking than I expected. You can either choose to use batteries or you can choose to plug them in. They are bright and all the colors are gorgeous. The battery box is fragile, so be careful. Other than that it's a good budget buy for 3 sets of lights. They are no color changing.
