I recently switched from Canon to Sony, I have several Canon lenses and only one new Sony lens. Happily, I'm able to use both Canon EF and EF-S lenses on my new Sony a7IV. I should note that the focusing is not as quick and smooth as well they performed on my Canon cameras, but they work!
As I learn how to use my camera, I think some features only work with the Sony lens. Also, the lens profile settings in Lightroom have to be manually set, since the lens is identified with a prefix designating the adapter

This fits my PVS 14 optics perfectly. It's easy to dial it open or shut, without actually moving your focus lenses. Keep in mind that as this opens and closes it'll seem like your focus is moving towards you when it's shut, and far off when fully open.
