This was really cute and fun for the whole family. It reminded me of watching the people at carnivals or theme parks when I was younger preparing it for me. It has a bit of a learning curve when trying to wrap it around and I still need to learn more, but overall it was so much fun and tasted great.

I could say that I ordered the Vos cotton candy machine for my grandchildren, but that wouldn't be truthful. I absolutely love cotton candy and ordered it for myself, although I will share it with others. The machine itself is so cute with its red vintage style. Included are 5 plastic sticks, a measuring spoon, a spinner head/sugar receptacle, a thin plastic bowl and a protective rim.
Making the cotton candy was quick and simple. I wasn't completely confident after reading the instruction booklet, so I did watch a video online for a similar machine. I heated the machine for about four minutes. I noticed that it was not staying put on the counter but walking around, so I put a silicone mat underneath it. Once it was heated, I turned it off. When it finished spinning, I used the red spoon to put about 13g of sugar into the receptacle. I actually used colored decorating sugar, but it was a very pale orange that didn't show in the final product. Then it was just a matter of waiting for the flossy bits to start appearing and catch them on my stick. I had read reviews that mentioned how the plastic sticks did not work, so I used a wooden skewer. There was enough of the floss to make two medium sized servings. My husband and I were so excited about getting to eat the cotton candy, that I forgot to take a photo until we were almost done! Now, that I can make my own cotton candy at home, I may never leave again!
Clean up was quick and simple. Just a bit of dish soap and water was all it took. You need to make sure that the spinner/receptacle cools for some time before handling it - it gets very hot! When you do wash it, make sure you get into the edges under the lip. Also be sure to get in there to fully dry it before using it again.
I do recommend this machine if you're a fan of cotton candy, and the price is comparable to other home use machines. I just wonder how long it will last since the bowl and rim are so thin. I have looked for machines with stainless steel bowls, but most of those are much more costly. For now, I will be quite happy with this one.

When I saw the Vos cotton candy maker, I knew I wanted to get it for my daughter. She's been wanting one, so I hopped on it. This kit comes with the cotton candy maker and shield, a scoop for the sugar, and 4 plastic sticks to collect the cotton candy. I've never used one, so the first round involved some trial and error. After reading the instructions we were good to go. We warmed the cotton candy maker up for 4 minutes and then added the sugar. It took maybe a minute or two for the floss to start forming. I will say this. DITCH the plastic sticks and get some paper cones. The sticks are pretty worthless. The floss didn't stick well and when you get to the part where you hold the stick horizontally over the dispenser and turned it, basically the cotton candy didn't turn with the stick. It stayed put while the stick turned. It was really REALLY hard to collect the cotton candy. The result was a tiny amount of floss that was kind of hard and chewy. I had the foresight to order some cotton candy sugar that included a bunch of paper cones. Round 2 was MUCH more successful. We had a kind of small but nicely shaped cone of delicious fluffy sugary goodness. Overall, I am quite happy with this machine. Make no mistake. It is a small, inexpensive cotton candy maker. For occasional family use, though, it's pretty darn good.

This cotton candy machine is awesome! My husband had difficulty getting the cotton to stick to the plastic sticks, but after several uses he's gotten the hang of it. I love how easy it is to clean, the sugar comes right off! We have only used regular sugar so far and as long as you follow the instructions, this machine works great! Love it!

We made our own sugar with regular sugar and candy flavoring I had at home already. Plug and play, but I was woefully unprepared for how to keep the cotton candy on the stick. I'm open to all tips, but still managed to make fun treats for me and the kids. It's easy to clean by wiping down the plastic. It's a little bulky for storage, but not as big as some other's I've seen. I'd say it's a little wider than a 2 piece toaster and double the height. Not too bad for entertainment and a treat!
