Bright novelty light
Joe C✓ Verified Purchase•October 17, 2023
The media could not be loaded. This is a fun little light, but not what I was expecting when I think of an under-cabinet light. The main function of an under-cabinet or closet light should be plain while light. The additional modes this light offers are surely useful for other use cases, but not for under a kitchen cabinet or in my closet.
Pros:
- 5 degrees of white light
- The brightest is very bright
- Magnetic mount make charging it easier
- last used mode memory
Cons:
- All the novelty modes ... For anything else those might be a pro, but if I put this in my closet or under a kitchen cabinet, I'm ditching the remote and hitting a button to turn it on. I imagine hitting the wrong button and getting a novelty mode will be a common occurrence and an annoyance.
- Centered magnets, but off-center buttons ... Using only magnets to attach to something like my industrial shelves, the light is anchored at the horizontal center of the light. If I push the bottom button, it may make the magnets a bit of a fulcrum and cause them to disengage. This did happen once, causing it to fall.
- No simple on/off power button on the light ... On the remote, I can hit the power button and the light will turn on to the mode and brightness it had last been at. If I hit either button on the actual light, I'll be cycling through until I get what I want. So if I ditch the remote and mount this in a closet, I will have to hit the button 4 times to get to the highest brightness.
The listing for this is a bit misleading as to who would want to buy this, even though the marketing does a better job of what the actual features are. A version of this same light with the above fixed and just white or warm color modes would probably have 5 stars from me.

Nice and bright, but not the most practical for under the cabinet

This is a bit odd for an under cabinet light, as most people wouldn't be using a remote for that, you'd expect either a large easily accessible button or motion sensor. The light itself has two 'buttons', basically just two spots you touch (flat, no actual buttons you press) one is basic light and the other cycles through the various color modes. It's easy to press the second one instead of the first, and fumbling under the cabinet to press the right button is a bit tedious. It might be better suited to use as accent lighting in one of the various color modes, maybe behind a tv or something. It's very pretty and bright, but not very practical for under the cabinet.
This is not a cabinet light, it's not a closet light, and it's not smart, but it is a PARTY LIGHT.

This is a difficult product to review, because I want to like it. It appears to be very well made, with a thin aluminum body, very good brightness, and Philips-head fasteners, which is nice if you ever need to take it apart. However, this isn't an under cabinet light, it's not a closet light, it's more like a party light.
This is a party light. Closet lights and under cabinet lights generally have motion sensors so you can turn them on with just a wave of a hand. This does have a remote, but nobody wants to find a remote when they're looking for something in a dark closet, it's just not a realistic use case. Instead, this light has 6 different flashing light modes, and all of them give off party vibes. I could see this light being very useful for a party, as an under table light, an ambient light, even mounted right on the wall or in a dorm. It also seems like it would be great for a exhibition table at a conference, or anywhere you need a convenient portable light with exciting light modes.
Update (10/13/2023): I had to revise this section after the seller contacted me to clarify the (confusing) instructions. It appears I was mistaken about the absence of solid color modes. The solid color modes technically do exist, however you must put the light into the mode (mode 1) where it cycles through the different colors, then you have to press mode 1 again to freeze the light on the color you want. There is no way to manually cycle through the colors. This is not easily discoverable if you simply press the 6 different mode buttons, and as far as I can tell, Mode 1 is the only button that can cycle through three different modes itself.
In conclusion, this is a great party light or maybe even a mood or accent light if that's what you want, however I wouldn't recommend this as a cabinet light or closet light.

Not bad but consider what you want it for- best for gamers
B Wallis✓ Verified Purchase•August 4, 2023
This is rather cool. I think the light show options are definitely for the gaming/younger set as they were a little too disco fever for my liking. I think this light used with a gaming setup would be awesome. I could see it fitting right in under a desk or in a drawer/cabinet for a gaming desk. The regular white is not a bad choice but I would rather pay less for a straight-up 3-temperature white closet light if that's where I was going to put this. Charges up with USB-C which I like. Sturdy metal build.
Magnet bracket feature, bright light, long-lasting on a charge
Chris Monson✓ Verified Purchase•July 28, 2023
Pros:
* Bright and lasts several hours on a charge even on brightest setting. On medium, lasts about 8 hours
* Magnetic base is nice, allows for portable or fixed use.
Cons:
* Charging is very slow. Takes a couple of hours to charge from halfway. Would benefit from USB PD.
