This storage box has a lid, and it is stackable. The lid is made with reinforced cardboard, so you can stack these containers. I'm not using it for ornaments, so my review is on the container only. I am using it to store various Christmas items. There is a divider included where you can divide the bag in half. There is a front label holder on the storage box. The material used is 600D oxford fabric and this container can support up to 11 pounds. There are dual zippers on the bag, and it has handles. This container is well made and it is very sturdy. I am very happy with this Christmas storage box.

This is a pretty big storage case and holds a lot. Of course, you already know that from reading the description. This is a sturdy protective case. A hard plastic case would provide more protection but if you store your ornaments away from unruly kids and pets, they will be adequately protected with this.

Between my husband and me and the three kids, we've amassed a LOT of holiday ornaments over the years, some of which are now 50+ years old and need secure storage to maintain their structural integrity. This large ornament storage box with individual compartments for each ornament is a great way to accomplish this with minimal fuss and easy storage/mobility.
The box itself is quite sturdy. The green outer rectangle is reinforced fabric, kind of like soft collapsible bins, and it holds its shape very well even when empty.
The layers that stack inside are a thick plastic that you have to fold and lock into shape (there are no instructions but it's relatively intuitive), and they assemble quickly and easily once you figure out the pattern.
The individual compartments within each layer are notched cardboard that you fit together. When assembled into a square, each layer's cardboard doesn't fully fit the plastic layering box. At first I thought this was a failing, but my husband pointed out that some ornaments we have are larger than others or have unusual shapes, so I think for us it will work well - but do be aware that the compartments are the flimsiest part of the piece...
