Assembly of the pole was very easy. It's essentially like an extension pole for a paint roller, but even longer. In fact, you could probably use it for some painting (though fully extended your accuracy is going to suffer!)
It has 3 different heads to attach and then lock in place. One suction cup, one long narrow bulb, and one wider bulb.
If your bulb doesn't have a lot of room around it, using the non-suction cup heads will be difficult.
I got this to change some exterior floodlight bulbs (16-20' up) and many of ours have a shroud/shade around the bulb very closely. This meant that I couldn't really get the head around the old bulb. But, I was still able to fiddle enough to back out the old bulb and well... that part was hilarious because I basically had to do sort of a controlled fall of each old bulb.
My new bulbs were compatible with the suction cup style, so I used that to install the new ones. The bulbs come off of it a bit easily though - I'm again not sure how well removal would go.
I suspect any similar product would have similar issues mentioned except for one, which prompted me to remove a star. If the suction cup didn't pop off, the string provided to remove it is a good bit shorter than the fully-extended pole. So you'd have trouble reaching it to give it a tug.

In short: Read the instructions and then take your time and you can likely make it through some bulb changes without buying a giant ladder. I think they provided the right array of end-pieces, but the string with the suction cup is a bit too short imho.

I've had several bulbs out for awhile now and couldn't change them because I have 13ft ceilings -- problem solved! Quick and easy! No problem to assemble. The pole is sturdy and won't bend like my old thin aluminum one. Great choice, and worth the $$ if you don't want a pole that'll bend.

I'm somewhat disappointed as it came incomplete, I put an X of what was missing in the box. The pole however is super sturdy and somewhat a little heavy to handle. But I mainly like the fact that I can extend this pole to length I want to reach higher for Cleaning.

In reality, I thought I could get more use out of this item. But most of my lights in my older home and new building have protective shields or angles that left little room to use this tool. HOWEVER, when used as advertised it handles those bulbs perfectly. I am a larger guy and ladders don't like me so much, a fall at my age would put my business behind weeks (or forever!). The point is to avoid the ladder and avoid the danger. My wife was not as adept at handling this thing so it is still me "Me" job. Consider what you need to do and determine if this is the right tool. If you have the right bulbs your house/business shouldn't be without this item.

I have a fear of heights and getting up on a ladder to change the bulbs in the two spotlights over the fireplace in the vaulted ceiling is a no go for me. So this tool is just what I needed. I've already changed the burnt out bulb in one of the spotlights and removed a dead bulb from one of the floodlights on the four corners of the house. The pole is very sturdy and looks to be made with high quality materials that should last a good long time while not being too heavy to hold for a shaky old lady like me. Extending the pole is so easy - just open one of the clips and shut it back when you have it long enough.

I used the suction cup to both remove the spotlight and to install the new bulb. I did have a problem with getting it to hold the dead bulb mostly I think because it was angled away from me. I finally got it to hold well enough to wiggle the bulb out and it held it for me to get it over the couch so it didn't hit the floor so I'm happy with that. Someone who isn't so shaky probably would have better luck at working it properly. Installing the new bulb with the suction cup was a breeze though. Easy as pie! I also used the suction cup to remove the dead floodlight bulb outside and it went a little bit easier, but still I couldn't get the suction to work. Again it was at an awkward angle and when I tried to push it against the bulb the entire fixture moved. I am waiting on a replacement bulb, but I expect it to go easier.

A great tool that I can recommend.
