I usually never buy stuff like this because the gadgets don't make it that much faster and/or more convenient, but this does! I can cut up fruit in half the time and it makes for less dishes to clean! Love it.

Slicing eggs, etc. might seem to be intuitive, but I'd like to see how foods were intended to be put into the slicer. The blades are at one end of a rectangle and there is a "lid" included that fits both ends. The photo shows foods cut into rounds, but the blades go across between the wider sides of the rectangle. This makes the slices more oval. Typically eggs, bananas, mushrooms, strawberries, etc. are bigger than the opening and must be cut before using the slicer. The blades are sharp and seem to be sturdy, but that's the total benefit over traditional egg slicers
