Works just as advertised. I purchased it this for my wife's 2016 Hyundai Sonata Hybrid. Since she only wanted Apple CarPlay we thought we would give this a try instead of dealing with the time and expense of a new head unit. She also wanted a bigger screen for the backup camera so this fit the bill. The installation was easy other than trying to find the reverse wire for the camera. That of course was no fault of the CarPlay manufacturer. If anyone has the same vehicle I can tell you where to tap into the wire, it's not where you may think. I would also recommend using Bluetooth audio instead of the auxiliary cable. For some reason the aux input didn't sound very good.
All in all it works well if you want to add wireless Apple CarPlay for a low cost and easy installation.

Great Way to Update an Aging Vehicle Sound System

As looking for a new head unit to update my 2004 Toyota 4Runner. The speakers and sub still sound great but the CD player no longer functions and I don't have CDs anyway. So after looking at several options to replace the whole system I came across this Smart Screen option. This is exactly what I was looking for! And it brings my vehicle up to date with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto so I can choose to use my iphone, iPad or even my Android tablet or if my dad is riding along he can connect his Android phone. So many options!
I love the ability to navigate solely by voice allowing me to keep my attention on the road at all times. Text messages are read out loud to me and I can reply verbally as well. I can choose between Waze, Apple Maps Google Maps and more for navigation. As for music I can choose Apple Music, Spotify, Pandora and many others. Everything seems to work as it should and the sound quality is superb via Bluetooth and the built in FM Transmitter. Just choose a free clear station on your stereo and match it on the Smart Screen.
The Dash Cam is very useful as well. The video quality is very good and there are many options to adjust which quality you would like to record. There is a slot for a MicroSD card and I installed a 32GB card.
While I really like the mobile nature of the Smart Screen and being able to take it with me in whatever vehicle I'm using that day, I'll be ordering at least one more for another vehicle soon.

If you're reading this, you're probably searching for a way to add CarPlay to an older vehicle without shelling out $600 for a new head unit. At least that was my situation. I purchased two different add-on CarPlay units to try. This was the cheaper of the two, but ultimately the one I kept (I returned the other).
The unit feels very light and flimsy, compared to other similar units. I like the smaller size (some will want a larger screen). The dashboard stand it comes with is junk. I glued a magnet to the back and have been using magnet mounts in my car.
The best aspect of this unit is the Bluetooth-to-car connection, which many others don't have. It does make a big difference and creates less cable mess.
On the second day with this unit, I turned on my car and the unit came on with flashing, changing colors. Perhaps it was because of the cold overnight weather (~ 30 F). I restarted it and it went back to normal. Still, not a good sign of durability"¦
Also, the plastic screen appears to have some damage to it on the corners. It's not noticeable when driving but is very noticeable when looking up close.

almost sent it back because it was just static, replaced the input, wasn't that and at the last minute before returning I switched the cord and it worked good, conclusion is the connecting cord almost made me return this, I use the one that was in my auxiliary to begin with
