I first got this for my kitten when he was just six months old because my brother bought the newer, upgraded version for his cat, who really enjoyed it. It immediately became one of my kitten's favorite toys. Unfortunately, after the first two charges, it wouldn't charge anymore. It was within the return window, though, so I exchanged it. The next one worked for three months before the internal mechanism for the charging connector broke, and it was out of the exchange/return period at that point, so I was really disappointed. But I reached out to the seller to explain and illustrate my issue, and they were apologetic, understanding, and kind and timely with their communications, and they replaced it free of charge, which I really appreciate. So, they definitely earned a 5/5 for customer service, and as such, I'd definitely buy from them again -- especially since I bought their "Potaroma Cat Toys Saury Fish, 3 Pack Catnip Crinkle Sound Toys" several months ago as well, and those look great and are well made and durable, and both my kitten and my 10-year-old cat really love them. You just might want to consider the model marked "Potaroma Cat Toys Floppy Fish Upgraded" instead of this one, as my brother has never had any motor or charging issues with that one. They're a solid company, though, and this toy is super fun for curious cats.

Potaroma Cat Toys Flopping Wiggling fish, size 10.5". We bought this for our newly adopted stray who is a few months old, very small for his age, and very active. He took to it right away and still enjoys it when we turn it on to catch his attention. What surprised us is that or old, faithful, chubby, lazy cat of 15 years who is too busy sleeping to be bothered with toys walked by it one day and decided to attack and play with it. She still does so I guess that really makes it a winner. I would recommend it. I was hesitant to even consider this because I thought the flopping would frighten the cat (either one) but it doesn't. And even if it isn't turned on they will play with it. My one gripe is the location of the zipper. I supposed it's the best they could do, but it is awkward to get to and unzip but I would still buy it again. At least it doesn't hurt their mouths in that location when they are attacked it with teeth bared and tugging at it. Very good toy and highly recommended.

This review is for the "realistic" version of Potaroma Cat Toys Flopping Fish. My cat got bored with it pretty quickly, but it was fun to watch the interaction while it lasted. I do believe that the included catnip was old as she didn't really seem to have much reaction to it. The catnip is included, but is contained in a cloth bag inside the fish so I would guess that it's potency had been drained before arriving to our house. I'm not a catnip expert, but maybe if it had been shipped in a plastic bag and transferred by the owner into the cloth bag, it would be more effective. I may pick up some fresh catnip at the pet store to see if it makes a difference.

The action of the fish works well. It lays still until interacted with and it starts flopping it's tail for a few seconds and then stops unless the cat is batting or biting at it. Everything seems pretty durable and it's nice that it is rechargeable rather than having to buy batteries for it every time you turn around. Overall, it's a pretty cool and fun item. I'm just a little disappointed that the catnip had already lost it's charge.

We have a one year old cavapoo dog and we decided to get this for her. She's a destroyer of all things and she's very good at finding the weak spots (like ripping the feet off of those hopping toys.) We even made a bet for how long we thought it would take to succumb to her destructive ways. I'm happy to say that this thing is still going! It's actually still in one piece and basically looks like new too. It's lived through one charge and is on its second. It does shut off when she finally wears herself out but otherwise this thing is in her mouth everywhere she goes. Even to our bed at night (it's not loud so it doesn't wake us up if it goes off.) It can be switched off if you want but we just leave it on because we're lazy and she just loves it so much. I think our two older dogs like it too because it keeps her puppyish mouth from chewing on them. The look of the fish is great and the fabric is too. It's even lasting through her chewing on its fins. I would definitely get this again. If you do get it, when you charge it make sure the red light glows on the flip-flopper mechanism. Our cavapoo had to play with the fish without the mechanism in it for a while longer than necessary because we didn't get the charging plug pushed in all the way. She still carried it everywhere.

First off the only reason I'm giving this 4 stars rather than 5 is because I bought a bird toy I believe from the same company and the bird toy was insanely impressive. This fish though does flop around and gets your cats attention. You can add catnip to the toy if you please as well. The only concern I have if my cat bites to hard if the hard battery will hurt him and his teeth. There isn't alot of padding around the hard battery but I think it should be ok as no one had made any reviews saying otherwise. I would buy this item again and would recommend.
