My 5 year old absolutely loved this marble run!! After getting all the pieces out we noticed one piece was damaged. I didn't want to return the whole set back to Amazon just for one piece so I messaged the company to see about getting the one defective piece. I was informed that they couldn't send just one single piece so they offered to send me a new set free of charge. I received the new set today, everything was perfect with the new set!! My son is even having more fun with all the added pieces!! Would definitely recommend to friends and family!! Only thing I'd mention is to keep track of the marbles! We already lost 2!! And I'm not sure if you can purchase replacement marbles!

My bright 4 1/2 year old grandson and I ordered this to play with while he was recuperating from tonsil surgery. It came within 12 hrs so that was great! He and I spent most of the next day obsessed with it. The set is enormously fun"”so much so that I almost want to play with it myself when he's not here. :) And he LOOOVES it"¦BUT"”as bright as he is, there's no way he can build more than a very simple, short run by himself. It takes an older person to understand that you have to build levels in order to be able to have a downhill run with momentum. Maybe if we continue to play with it, he'll eventually learn how to do that"”certainly, I would think, a 10-yr-old would get it. So don't expect to hand this to a small child and expect them to build a run by themselves. That's a recipe for frustration. I got this for my 5 year old for his bday because he's gotten obsessed with watching marble runs on Youtube. I really like how its child's legos, and you can attach them to the base, making it easier to keep track of, easier to move, and easier to replace lost pieces. We have spent hours and hours building mazes for him. The maps that come with it, are very nice. I have one memorized already, we call it "The simple one" The "marbles" that come with it, are perfect, plastic ones, which I wish I could find more of, since he lost one already. We initially bought our own set of glass ones, small and large, but the weight of them is too much for the mazes typically, and it breaks the maze faster. My older sons like to play with it too. They're almost preteens. One did suggest he wished there was an "X" piece that was made all in one, to help with some of the more complicated mazes, as its sometime difficult to get it to stand up and balance. We did have to add a rather large, thick book to his collection, in order to hold the base and transport it around the house. It never stays for long as on a table, since he will want to play with it for hours and hours, and then want to preserve it for later. My only complaint, is, the bases are not the same as the ones pictured. When I first realized this, it was out of frustration, while trying to build some more of the more "complicated" mazes. We have since learned how to alter the mazes to fit the pieces we received, but no matter what we do, some of those mazes we can never accomplish as pictured due to this. The other thing we did was "laminate" the mazes. They are paper, and repeated use over and over, does cause them to rip and tear. We placed clear tape over them front and back, but I wish there was a more sustainable way from the company to preserve them for future use. That being said, we're overall, pretty happy with them, and plan to purchase more pieces to add on, for future sets, in the future.

I love many features of these blocks. There are vibrant colors and they fit with Duplo blocks"¦but I find the connections between the blocks are not very secure and things fall apart easily. Also, the block color does not correspond to the color in the directions so it took this gramma a while to learn how to help build the marble runs! My grandson and I still give it a good try and try to secure the runs with more bricks.
