Very strong magnet! The off and on blows my mind. Seriously. That's such a cool feature. Very helpful when trying to put multiple screws/nails in while on the ladder... helpful when my clumsy self dropped a couple out of my hand and had to find them. I can very easily see my man or my dad completely nerding out over this cool magnet so I think I'll be ordering another before Christmas 😉

I mainly got this magnet to assist in welding small or lightweight metal where attaching my ground might make stability problematic. This magnet is smaller than I envisioned, and way more powerful than I would have thought. You definitely want to have it placed in your intended location before engaging the magnet as the pull from an already deployed magnet is seriously strong. All of the machined surfaces are straight and clean. The only reason I haven't rated this magnet higher is because the rotating handle on mine seems to be a bit...sticky? Not sticky like tacky, but the tension spring on the handle that pushes outward doesn't seem to have consistent pressure and I need to pull up on the handle occasionally to engage it the 'lock'.

Overall, a surprisingly strong and handy magnet.

The media could not be loaded. I wasn't sure what I was going to get with this item, when it arrived It was a bit bigger than I expected. Also stronger then expected.

As you can see by the images it is slightly larger than the Magswitch 150.

I love these on/off magnets for a myriad of jigs and shop projects. This particular one takes a 60 mm hole to be used in a jig.

I tested the magnet and with straight vertical pulling I cannot remove it from my jointer bed when directly in contact with the metal. In fact, I broke my luggage scale in the test. Its max is 80lb.

As for shear strength the magnet is quite strong but can be slid on the metal table when just metal to magnet. As shown in the video to increase shear strength I used adhesive backed rubber carpet tape. With this attached adding a friction/drag element I can barely move the magnet from side to side, a feature desired when making certain jigs. It should be noted that although shear strength is increased when the carpet tape is applied, the magnet loses it's very strong verticle power. Since I broke my scale I could not measure the shear strength but it is greater than the Magswitch 150 which is plenty powerful for all applications.

I would recommend and purchase this item in fact, I did purchase my own additional magnet needing two for making most jigs.

Nice strong magnet with a 1/2 power and full power and off with turn of handle.

Exactly what I need to release the magnetic hook on my front door! It worked like a champ. Just need to be careful on where to store it so it doesn't effect any of my electronics.
