The sprouts are in and this is a good product. Sprouting quickly. I usually go for mixed greens, but this is a good single-type sprout. These seeds are sprouting on schedule and look healthy. Easy to grow, easy to harvest.

I thought I'd be good with these Organo Republic Alfalfa Seeds for sprouting in a jar. Then I saw that the instructions were for microgreen growing in trays. So I did some research and found that some seeds are for sprouting and some for microgreens. In the Amazon product page, these are referred to as Sprouting and Microgreen seeds. So I took my best shot at finding instructions to sprout these in a jar. What I found said, soak, rinse twice a day, keep covered until the 5th day when you give them sunlight to green them up. And that worked just fine. The instructions say to grow them as microgreens in trays. And perhaps these work better for doing it that way. I don't know, I have the mason jars, screens and the little stands/racks. I grew sprouts at home in the 1970s, and now thanks to these seeds, I'm back at it.
At least 90-95% germination per batch, great flavor!

So I wanted to wait until I had grown a couple of batches a couple of different ways before giving a review. I love getting seeds and planting things so I was very excited to give these heirlooms a try! The first batch was soil based micro greens in a tray. Soaked for 12 hours and planted in rows. I got at least 85% sprouted from that first batch. I tried a second tray without soaking, and while the tray did take a couple of days longer to sprout, I had a more dense batch, probably at least 90-95% sprouted I would say. None of them got as leggy as I'm used to but no biggie, still a great batch. That's with keeping the soil pretty moist the first couple of days and under slight heat. Be careful, too much moisture equals mold.
Third batch, mason jar time! I soaked for 12 hours and then just rinsed twice a day. In came some beautiful sprouts and about 95% of them sprouted. Not sure why but there were a couple of seeds that never woke up. 2nd jar, about the same results. 95% germination is actually great for stored seeds! The sprouts have a good bold flavor to them, no issues with the veggies themselves. I'm happy with this batch of seeds!

I love sprouts but don't like having to pay grocery store prices for them.
