This is a nice looking desktop aquarium once it is fully assembled. Assembly was interesting, as I allowed my 11 year old to do it. There were no instructions included, so the dad intuition and assembly skills had to come in to assist. However, this was after a moment of frustration where a piece of the plastic broke off completely (the plastic is nice and rigid with little to no flex). I was able to fix the damage with a little hot glue and my son loves it. While I had the hot glue gun out, I made sure to go around the seams of the product in the bottom to ensure that it was water tight because ya never know how much water might get dumped into it when the kids are trying to be helpful - thought it might prevent future issues being on a computer desk"¦. Overall, it's very nice looking and shipped well, just needs some instructions.

My son loves collecting bugs andnlizadd and this little tank we made is perfect for our outdoor adventures. It can hold a decent sized lizard or a few bugs and we havent kept anything in it long term yet so idk how it would work over time but for daily adventures and viewings its perfect.

If you are in the market for a small, affordable terrarium setup, then this might be the perfect kit for you! Right now this kit is the best all-around value on the market. I have already ordered more of these kits than I would like to admit.

The acrylic terrarium is exactly like all of its competitors; it comes with 6 pieces of acrylic that you must assemble with rubber bands. The pieces have film on both sides, and I highly recommend making sure you remove all of it before you try to put pieces together. If you have issues with transparency then you probably missed a piece of film! No instructions are included, but it is easy to assemble simply by studying the product images. The magnetic latch is fairly weak, as with most terrariums of this kind, but that is not a problem with the isopods I put in them.

The quality has been great and on par with others I have paid twice as much for. The air holes are very small and towards the top of the enclosure, making it a perfect home for small creatures who try to escape. I have not had an issue with gaps or bulges between the walls or lid, and when I have very moist substrate inside I have not experienced any leaking.

As for the extras included in this kit - I am very impressed as well. The coco coir brick is enough to fill at least 2 tanks, unless your pet requires a very thick layer. The tongs are actually made out of metal, and they are very long and sturdy. The bowl is glass and very generously-sized in relation to the tank.

This kit has it all! It won't work for fish, but it is great option for most tiny pets. I will undoubtedly buy even more in the future as long as it's value remains competitive.

Believe it or not, this little habitat is better than I expected! However, I'm not using it for any critters. I have 3 small plants that want the high humidity of an enclosed habitat. There is NO way you should put a chameleon or gecko in here unless for brief transport or while cleaning their real tank. Note that the Target Species in the product listing says "Snail." But even for a snail, I'd probably give them more room than this.

There are also no instructions enclosed. If you need a product photo for reference while assembling, you'll have to come back to this product listing to get it. Similarly, if you've never used coco coir and aren't sure how to expand it or use it--you're totally out of luck, because it's not even labeled. A person who hasn't worked with it before would just see a weird brown hard block.

A couple more notes on assembly... The plastic bands really hurt my fingers to stretch over the connectors, however, they do solidly hold the habitat together. And if you don't have long fingernails, good luck getting off the sheeting covering BOTH sides of each acrylic panel. I had to scratch so hard I thought I was damaging the acrylic itself. Acrylic is so easy to scratch, I'm not sure why they didn't give you pull tabs or other visual indicators to help that process.

You might be wondering why, with all these complaints, I'm still giving this habitat 4 stars. I've reviewed three similar items marketed as reptile tanks recently, all of which were larger, more expensive, and seemed like they'd be more practical. Of those, this the only one that even assembled correctly and has a door hinge that works! There are just so many poorly designed tanks/habitats on the market, I was very happy this one proved immediately useful for my little plants.

Carefully consider whether the small dimensions will be appropriate for your use case, and you'll be good to go!

This is for my baby praying mantis! It's perfect for humidity and smaller babies! Setup takes two minutes and I've not had any issues with the bands breaking. This one came with substrate and tools! Great price!
