We bought this Veltec utility knife because it is not just a straight rectangle but angled with finger groove indentations. It is heavier than the typical box cutter style utility knife. We are using it to cut vinyl floor tile. The slide mechanism to engage the blade requires you to push down on the button for it to extend the blade, but it has 4 settings with the blade 1/4, 1/2, 3/4 and fully extended. In other words, ours has 4 settings and not 3 as the product description states. Apart from being comfortable to hold we find $5 store brand rectangular ones work just as well for cutting without the higher cost.

Heavy duty tool with a comfortable grip that fits nicely in the hand. Safety features a guard around ones hand and a retractable blade at your fingertip so you can immediately retract the blade when finishing a cut. The top of the tool opens to store spare blades at the push of a button. Blade changes made easy by pushing another button. This tool made it easy and safe especially when I had to cut up heavy duty cardboard boxes. I am a person who really appreciates a good tool that makes things a little easier and safely. This was a well designed tool.
