Pay attention to what kind of doors you have before buying

Unfortunately the door strap doesn't fit onto my door properly in the way the lock is designed.
However the lock does appear strong enough to keep out smaller children and etc. For an adult it's pretty easy to just squeeze your hand through the gap and unlock the strap. But otherwise the strap is pretty secure and strong that I imagine it would do pretty well at keeping out small children.
Obviously if a grown adult kicks the door I think that it would likely just break the lock off.

This door lock has everything going for it safety wise. However there is one thing personally I wish which would have been more length options. I have a bigger cat that gets skittish and won't force herself through the gap as she doesn't like feeling cramped. We got it to keep our dog from getting to the litterbox, but was not able to use it for that purpose. For anyone else though wanting an easy install to keep your kids safe or large dogs out of a room without fully closing it this is for you then. Solid price, and solid quality make this a must have.

Had to figure out a way to keep my dog out of the bathroom as he was eating the cat's litter. This does the trick! The gap is big enough for the cats to go in and out but too small for the dog, which is perfect.
