Black is where it's at these days! I'm obsessed with it. While I prefer a bit more detail and weight in a tray this one will do just fine for candles, napkins, salt/pepper etc. It is a lower height than others which may or may not work better for you. This is a lovely little tray I am using as a stand for my snake plant. It arrived in perfect condition, packaged very well. It's lightweight and I really like the color of the wood. I do feel it is rather overpriced for what it is (thus the four-star, rather than five-star rating); nevertheless, it a nice piece I'm happy to have.
