The only reason I had for lower rating was the size of the carrier. I would say it's more of a smaller sixed one and very cramped for a 20lb. cat, I've had them that size. More like an 8 pounder and cramped for my 12lb. in my opinion only, you might think otherwise.

My cat absolutely adores simply relaxing in it, and has spent many hours doing just that. Kept open, it has a tendency to flatten to one side or the other when there is an animal in it, but overall it's reliable with wire ribs at each end. Using it to carry her to the vet was a breeze, and as the top portion opens it was incredibly easy for the vet to lift her out and put her back in without too much stress. Great product!

I purchased this because I have a 20lb cat who was a bear to get in a hard shell carrier. This has 3 openings to use and is sturdy enough for my big boy. It is a much nicer experience than try to lug a hard carrier into the groomer. Great quality- would highly recommended!
