My kids have been begging me to buy one of these, so I finally gave in! The first attempt took a while to slush up as we used room-temp soda (too impatient!), so that added an extra 5-10 min. With cold sodas it works great in about 15 min.

The media could not be loaded. I had so much fun making slushies with my daughter. It works as advertized, but you need to follow the instructions carefully (I'm glad they printed them on the side of the machine as I always lose the instruction booklets!).  We found that Ice Cream salt worked best (no idea why, it just does) "“ FYI this doesn't mix with the slushie, it goes in the metal container with the ice cubes.
PROS: You can use any sodas or juices as long as it has high sugar content "“ you don't need to buy slushie syrups. Works in about 15 min, although the drinks need to be chilled and you need to freeze the metal container for a while first. I leave it in the freezer (after rinsing it out) so it's always ready to go. We also tested the silver insulation thing which seemed to make it work quicker in our warm kitchen.
CONS: It's quite loud, but blenders/mixers are never silent!
