On par with a lot of the shooting pads out there.

There seems to be a lot of drag that some of the higher end sheets of synthetic don't have. There are a few sprays that could probably add some slickness. Some of those higher end pads have a lubricant embedded in the synthetic ice.
With that in mind, at the price point this pad is in, it's a good value. I would recommend using different pucks than a regular ice puck. I would get something like a green biscuit or a street hockey puck to get a closer feeling to ice. It's big enough an adult can take a full wrist shot.

Solid choice

We play ice hockey twice a week, but the rink is an hour away so it's great to have something in between that's quick and portable. It's light enough (and the handle is a great touch) and portable enough that it can go anywhere - in the garage, outside, and it fits in the car too.
It's true to the listed size, but like others have said, it just feels bigger than expected when it's finally right in front of you. That's very much a good thing though, plenty of room for shooting or stickhandling back and forth. It's pretty light and semi-flexible, yet it does feel durable.
The gliding is pretty good, but it's certainly not ice. Takes just a bit more effort to get the same kind of movement. If you're trying to do sick dangles you'll probably get frustrated, but being portable I think this is meant for more casual play. When you factor everything together, it's a solid choice for shooting drills and intermediate stickhandling, and it'll pay for itself pretty quick by saving you stick blades versus cement.

Good Artificial Ice

The media could not be loaded. My two sons play hockey, but outside of practice, they don't have much opportunity to do stick handling. There are other options like wooden practice balls, or just basic foam/tennis balls, but it's not the same as real ice. The next best thing is artificial ice.
When I first got this, I noticed that both sides had a thin protective piece of plastic I could peel away which protected the artificial ice from superficial scrapes, which I liked. I left the other side on to protect it from the surfaces that it lays on. My son gave it a go and really likes the feel of it. I will say that the puck still doesn't move quite like it is on ice, but it's a much better option than a ball because it's an actual puck (in this case, a green biscuit) so it's as close to it as we can get.
I think my chief complaint is that the perimeter of the artificial ice could be shaved down to give it a ledge to easily bring the puck back into the ice. It's not huge, and my son had the tendency to knock the puck off the side and when he went to bring it back up onto the sheet it would get caught on the ledge and stop the puck, flipping it up. This is an inconvenience that could be solved by having a small slope cut around the edge of the sheet.
It's a nice piece of artificial ice that my sons will use to practice shooting and stick handling, but there could be some small improvements to make it better.

Nice and portable

I have made these in the past with plastic sheets from the home store for the driveway and decided to try this one. The good is that its light and portable, with a handle. The surface is not as slippery as ice, but none of them are. I use a light silicone spray and it helps.
One embarrassing note is that when I first unboxed it I noticed it wasn't that slippery when stickhandling so I flipped it over...same. Then I noticed both sides were covered with a protective film of clear plastic. Doh! Make sure you remove it first.
In summary its not cheap, but you will save the bottom of your expensive ice hockey blades from wearing down on the concrete or driveway when shooting.
Good day.

Great Hockey Training Tile

This has been a great alternative to my son shooting foam pucks around his room!. This is a grwat size, he can spread out in the garage or the patio and get the feel for puck handling on ice. We have learned that in-line pucks work better than ice, pucks, and a little bit of spray for tiles makes from more seamless play. my son loves it and I'm glad he is able to have a place to get real applicable skills off the ice.
