The battery life on this is okay, but the spare isn't to expensive so I recommend getting a second battery. The size is very small, like the name suggests, a shovel sized width. For light snow, less then 6 inches, it works very nicely. Cleans the snow up easily and quickly, better then shoveling or breaking out the snow blower. It can really grab rocks and throw them, I don't recommend this for anything but paved areas.
Assembly is very easy, just a couple parts. The battery is supposed to be generic, but none of our other batteries fit this so I wouldn't count on using it with other batteries.
