I've been wanting one of these for longest time now and I'm so happy to finally have one. I'm a beginner when it comes to die cutting so this one has been working great for me. It comes with some carstock two of each color, stamps, a couple of die, and two embossing folders. It's easy to use and understand. It does come with instructions as well. The machine does have some weight but it's not so heavy that it's impossible to move around. The cardstock is nice quality. It's got a nice thickness to it. For me personally since I don't have a lot of muscle it does take a minute to get the wheel to turn and keep everything still. (It sucks being weak lol) It's an all around wonderful machine and I definitely recommend it.

I've wanted a handcrank embossing machine for a while, I almost splurged a couple years ago when I was making my wedding invites but the name brand Sizzex are SO expensive! When I came across this for half the price I had to try it...and it works great! The kit includes a couple embossing folders, some basic butterfly and flower die cutting metals, a set of generic clear silicone stamps, and some paper to get you started. READ THE MANUAL so you know which clear plates to stack and in which order to cut and which order to emboss because it's different and important. The one surprise for me was that when you crank a stack thru the rollers you should be ready to grab it on the other end because sometimes it'll come out with a kick as it rebounds from being compressed. Great for the occasional project, fantastic for someone who crafts casually and can't justify splurging on a name brand.

You just need to screw in the handle (extra screw included) and you're good to go. It comes with a base platform and three cutting boards: one thicker and two thinner. There are also several dies and some paper to try out. I recommend getting a self-healing mat for die cutting for clean cuts. It is impossible to cut dies on cardstock with just the supplies provided. The thicknesses of the boards don't line up right; I had to add shims from other products on hand. Embossing cardstock with folders works fine with the base and cutting pads. It's very easy to use and appears sturdy.

So far, this thing is great after a few days of experimenting. For the uninitiated, this is a heavy machine that takes up nearly a square foot of desk space. Inside it are a couple of rollers, and the side has a crank to move the plates through the rollers, under significant pressure. Simple.
You're limited to the embossing and cutting dies that are included with the set, but you can buy more; these leaves and patterns are just the beginning of what you can make. I've done a little of both embossing and cutting, and both have been done with great efficiency; make sure you have a sturdy, flat surface because this thing can pop the plates out as they pass through with some significant force.
I look forward to experimenting by making my own dies, and possibly using this for printmaking; with the right pressure pads, I imagine that this can pull some really clean prints. Really convenient, and lots of uses. So far, very pleased! We'll see how this holds up over time.
