Great little PC for everyday computing
Scott✓ Verified Purchase•February 16, 2024
I've had this mini PC for around two weeks and have been using it full-time to test everything out. It is a great little machine for the average user doing web browsing, email, Youtube, and online shopping. I've been using it to WFH over a VPN connection and it's been snappy/responsive to everything I've thrown at it. I've loaded it down with 10+ Chrome tabs and it didn't become sluggish. I tested the power draw at the wall, and while being used it is only pulling 8-10 watts.
It comes pre-loaded with Windows 11 Home, which is fine for the majority of users.
It's really cool that we're at a point in history where you can get such a capable computer for $150. This would be perfect for a kid doing school work or an elderly parent that has a limited budget. So far I am really impressed with this machine, and I actually plan to purchase another one to leave at my mom's house. I will update this review if anything changes, but as of now I would recommend purchasing this unit.

Alder Lake tradeoffs, fan problems
Bill Stewart✓ Verified Purchase•February 4, 2024
I got mine a couple months ago, and like another reviewer, the fan's making a lot of noise so it might fail soon.
Pros: For what it does, it does it pretty well. Alder Lake isn't a blazingly fast machine, and the 16GB RAM limit means you can only have so many browser tabs chewing up memory, but I needed a machine to back up my work PC, hold my photos and music, serve files at home, keep things running while I figure out if I want a Mac instead (:-), and it does all that fine. If you want high-end video editing or the latest multi-player gaming, this isn't the CPU for you, but for $150-$200, it does the job.
Tradeoffs: There are a bunch of cheap Alder Lake machines. This one had more expandable internal storage but doesn't have USB-C; I've so far only connected external storage to it but might add another internal disk.
Cons: It doesn't have USB-C, but there are two HDMI ports, which is as much video as a box with this size CPU can feed. And as I said, after 2 months the fan's getting noisy, I might have to replace it, and the annoyance of the noise is bigger that the $10 a new fan costs.

Features missing and would exchange

I do love this little computer. As far as functionality it's a 5 star for me. As far as features/useable features it's a 4 for me... It doesn't have a USB-C which everything seems to be using lately. It does have a LAN - but more people use wifi than LAN. I'd love to see this model with 3 HDMI ports and/or a USB-C to be able to hook up a docking station to get the 3 displays. Make those couple little tweaks and I think you have a 10 star item...I'd certainly get this for throughout my business.
Good mini pc- Windows 11 HOME!
S.W.✓ Verified Purchase•December 25, 2023
Quick boot up and not as loud or hot as I thought it would be. The description said Windows 11 pro when I purchased it but it came with Windows 11 home. Not a big deal since what I'll be using it for the Windows version doesn't matter but really should be listed. Speed was good and it runs stable.
