I bought a very similar chair a few years ago but that the armrest on that one is fixed and it always bothers me. So I bought this chair since its armrest is flip-up style. I have to say the armrest on this chair is actually uncomfortable, both when down and up. When down, it's not long enough for me to rest my arms sideways. The height of them is also uncomfortable compared to my old chair. So I end up not using the armrest. But when up, it's not all the way up so it rubs against my shoulders. The GOOD NEWS is that the armrest can actually be removed and that's my main purpose of writing this review. You can remove the caps outside (this is the hardest part), unscrew 2 nails with the hex tool, then use some sheer force to pull the armrest apart.
Compared to my old gaming chair, the faux leather is also less shiny and slightly less smooth. The back design is also a little bit less comfortable than my previous chair but maybe it's also because I am just used to it.
Overall a 5 star chair after the armrest is removed.
