Revolutionized how I grow food for my family!

I have been using an aquaponics system but it's too far away from my kitchen. I purchased this AeroSpring hydroponics system for about 3 years now and love it. The construction is solid and the lights, fan, and roll-up shades creates the perfect growing environment. I like being able to grow tons of basil to make pesto, and grow leafy greens for our salads. I keep clippers nearby so I can easily take clippings every day. It's a great conversation starter and my guests all love to learn about hydroponics with this system. It's easy to refill water (20 gallons) and add nutrients. I've cleaned the entire system twice and it took about 2 hours. Our water is hard so I had to scrub some of the calcium deposits off. It's nice to grow veggies for our family -- and not for the rodents! This is a game changer!

The media could not be loaded. Before you purchase this unit, decide on your level of determination. Because it does take major determination for most folks. If you can maintain a high determination level, you will get exciting results.
I did, and I live with the handicap of impaired mobility and I can still get great results.
The routine of setting up and actually growing delicious greens can be overwhelming at first even with determination. Just keep going. I've had the unit for 14 months now and have gone through a few rounds of growing simple lettuce, herbs and Chinese cabbage. Keep it simple. Advise planting what is recommended and not getting carried away at first (I did and there was a little disappointment but that's on me). It's a big unit and you can grow a lot. Some people grow gorgeous flowers all over the tower.
Just decide on your level of determination. Make it high and you'll have great success.
The box arrives gigantic but sturdy. Items are packed genius to fit but not necessarily in order of assembly. A neighbor helped me assemble mine over 3 evenings of her spare time. We scratched our heads some yet figured it all out. The Smart Life app took the most determination to get set up. There is not one main video showing all setup, which would have been my preference; rather, there were only pain point videos accompanying a decent online manual. Still, setup gets done and then the thrill of planting begins. The nutrients last quite awhile that come with the unit. Otherwise inexpensive to purchase brands available in your part of the world going forward. You'll go through plenty of rock wool plugs for planting, so figure on that continued expense.
Really, it is so worth it to me to gaze at my unit growing amazing green garden goodness, the tower set next to a window (not necessary, works in a dark cave lol) with the backdrop of 2 feet of Minnesota USA snow. It feels like a friendly joke on Mother Nature to have fresh produce growing at home during snow maze days.
Don't do it unless you can summon some real gusto about it. The company has a very responsive Facebook group. They definitely work with you about any non-functioning parts. Expect to have to replace the motor sometime in its lifetime.
It's a brilliantly designed rig, in my opinion. Make it work and have a great time with it.

I think it's neat. However setup is not for the easily frustrated. If you don't have alot of strength, or are not tech savvy then you may want to think twice. The wifi setup was a pain. It was not working for me. Had to get my bf to help me set up. He's very computer savvy and even it had him in remiss. Now the product is heavy! I felt bad for the FedEx women. Had to get my bf to bring it inside because it was to much for her to carry. The tent rods are not very durable. I'd say set up the grow lights before putting the tent on. You will need a power strip for plug ins. I think paying $1200 is more than it's worth...but the computer parts are what make it expensive. I think I favor aero gardens computer system over this one. But hey, I'll give it time to grow on me. 😉.
Update- plants grow and survive...but very slowly. I've grown bored of it. I've had it almost a year. I'ma selling mine at a lower cost. Becouse I want an aero garden

I almost never write reviews: But the AeroSpring is SO amazing, I just HAD to share!
Overall: The system arrived quickly within one week. I have no experience with this sort of thing, but I found the directions and videos to be very clear and thorough. So, we had no problem setting up the unit, though it did take several hours. All the components seem to be of excellent quality. Nothing about the Aerospring seems cheap! Just superb! Now, you do have to start your seedlings in advance. That was no problem. I actually use Root Riot and Rock Wool for that. I don't remember how long that took, but I do remember that the Root Riot (for hydorponics) product is the quicker route. Customer service is also excellent. I had several questions and all were answered very quickly.... They are exceptional.
I've attached pictures of my first seedlings/then a few weeks later to today, which is about 5 weeks of growing. I grow: Lettuces: Romaine, Iceberg, Escarole, Parris Island, Kale, Broccoli Rabe (It loves growing in the Aerospring!) Brussel Sprouts, Eggplant, Zucchini, peppers and tomatoes-- along with some herbs.
There seems to be plenty of space for everything to grow. We've already had several salads of Broccoli Rabe--Kale--Iceberg and Romain-- just absolutely, incredibly delicious! :-)
One point of comparison: I also bought an Aerogarden Farm XL. I had experience with some of the smaller ones. True, it's more of a "set it and forget it": but, mine had issues with one of the lights not working. I had a long, drawn out experience trying to get results from Aerogarden's customer service. After one month of back and forth with various customer service reps-- always requesting multiples of pictures, videos, explanations. When they finally approved sending me a new light-- they told me they were backordered and I needed to wait an additional 4 weeks for them to possibly be back in stock. I returned the whole unit to Walmart as a result and got a replacement.
The point: The Farm XL touts being able to grow 24 plants. Well, as you can see from the photo, that might be true of growing very small, slender plants such as: Dill, Chives, Oregano. My XL has 3 cherry tomato plants and has virtually overshadowed the rest of the unit. There is no comparison: The Aerospring is by far the Superior product to the Aerogarden. We love it!
I highly recommend the Aerospring! As soon as I can figure out WHERE to put another-- I'll be ordering at least one more!!

I bough this hydroponic system a month ago and all I have to say is WOW! It's a must get for anyone. I will continue to post updates and pictures. Currently growing: Basil, parsley, oregano, lettuce, gourmet lettuce, mixed salad, spinach, collard greens, kale lacinato, blue dwarf kale, kale premier, arugula, pepper, and hot pepper. Note: the basil and parsley I recently put in pots. The pots you see in the pictures DO NOT come with the hydroponic system. I just put the pots next the hydroponic system and it just so happened to work out.
Shipment and Smart features:
I received it very fast and it was easy to construct (my kiddo helped me do it). It took a few hours but the directions on how to put it together is the QR code. Just scan the QR code with your phone camera and the files with video instructions are right there. I love that it is digital like that! I also really love the smart feature it has where you're able to control the lighting and watering through the app. You can literally set it and forget it! There is also a small digital thermometer/timer and a fan that is located at the top of the hydroponic tent.
Cool features 😎:
This hydroponic system can be used indoors and outdoors AND you can set it up so it's on wheels (I did this). I think it's so convenient to have the flexibility of being able to have this system indoors or outdoors. I currently have it indoors but I do plan on putting it outdoors at some point or maybe even buying another one.
Maintenance:
It is very easy to keep clean so far. I will be needing to change the water here shortly (it's been a month) but I will definitely write an update when I do so!
Growth:
I moved these plants over from a smaller hydroponic system I used to germinate them. Once I transferred them to this hydroponic system the growth literally EXPLODED. I would say within 2 weeks I noticed a huge difference in the health of my plants. My basil and parsley got so big I had decided to put them in pots. I am very happy with the salads and lettuce wraps I've been eating lately! I will continue to update the growth of the plants.
Pros: it takes up very little space, comes with everything you need, health plants, ability to use it both inside or outside.
Cons: the electric brick for the lights can get pretty hot, the lights also get hot so I set a timer for the light to turn off periodically throughout the days.
