I know that this is a fish tank stand but it totally fits our need for our hamster. I know it may seem a bit extreme but the hamster is actually Mr. Twinkie's pet. Mr. Twinkie is a cat. Hammy is in a bin that we have designed and set up for fun. We had kept his habitat on the top of a dresser. Hammy's home fits this perfectly. We did nano tape the bin to the stand because Mr. Twinkie would get so excited and knock it over. We were able to store all the accouterments needed to keep Hammy happy in cute bins under the setup. This stand allowed us to use those great tubes and create a fun house. The well-made stand once put together was very strong and sturdy. We put a camera in to watch. Mr. Twinkie was unable to push off the bin or the bin and stand. We had finally found the right base for the habitat.

I have been an aquarist for about 23 years, so I have tried dozens of tanks and stands. For the most part, if you buy from a "Big Box Store" you are getting something for a low price that simply isn't built to withstand the weight of a tank fully stocked. Buying anything but the best is very risky.
I am happy to say this stand is more than robust enough to handle anything within the 20-gallon limit.
It is formed from steel. Not just sections, the entire stand is steel. This puts me at ease.
I love the utilitarian look of it because it can fit in anywhere.

As of now, I am content and not really worried. It says in the title for 20g, then in the description it says 40g. I have a 40g with 2 Red Ear Sliders. Their water is not usually all the way to the top, usually about 3/4 full, so I am pretty sure its not close to 660lbs. I also looked up how much 40g of water weighs, and its in the mid 300's. I know my tank alone doesnt weigh 300lbs while empty, I know its not gonna be anything close to 600lbs. It was easy to set up. All the pieces were there. I did have one tiny issue with one of the screws being a little wonky, but its fine, it doesnt seem to bother the setup or have any impact on the sturdiness. I was extremely nervous at first, even with all of my research, but like I said, I'm content at this point. If it does change, I will be back to update!
