Good set of petri dishes for experiments.

The 90mm x 15mm petri dishes are the perfect size for experimentation. The plastic is crystal clear, and holds agar growth medium well. The lid covers the dish completely, and overlaps, keeping it in place. I use the dishes to collect samples from my home and work environments to see what is floating around in the air. It is interesting to discover what we breathe into our lungs and the differences in air quality in different places. These dishes can be loaded with growth medium, stacked up and transported easily to different locations for testing.

These petri dishes were just as described. I did not observe any obvious contamination when doing some fun homeschool science projects.
They are a good size and stack nicely without taking up any extra space. They have the lids that just rest on top which is pretty standard for these. You should be storing them upside down if you have agar cultures on them. Good price for a set of these.

If it isn't listed, I'm not expecting it. The listing does not mention these will hold up to sterilization, so I don't expect them to. As with all plastic petri dishes, they are "generally" ment to be used once and properely disposed of. There are exeptions and on Amazon you will see the listing clearly boast theirs will hold up to the process. Glass petri dishes on the other hand are ment to be reused in most cases due to their inherent ability to withstand heat and pressure.
So no stars removed for an unknown. I'm going by the default assumption these may or may not hold up to a good pressure coocker lol. That's on me.
I will however say these appear to be made pretty well for plastic- thick and clean: no warping. As others have stated, these also appear to be well sterilized and sealed ok for shipment. However, I have seen much better seal jobs for dishes than this. Stackable or not, once the bag is opened, you can forget them remaining sterile for long unless your environment is perfectly void of spores, pollen, bacteria, viruses... etc. I would have preferred if the manufacturer pre-sealed these in batches of 5, then used another air-tight bag over the lot. Just my preference if you are going to transport sterile lab-grade dishes.
All-in-all, for the price, these are fantastic imho. Recommended for mycology and general lab work.

This stacks well, is lightweight and easy to use. I'd have preferred that they are individually wrapped to help keep them individually sterile, but I usually end up going through a decontamination cycle before use anyway. Though I doubt these are autoclave-safe, so I have to rely on disinfectants.
Good optical quality, not noticing any distortion and I can view through the lid from the microscope without issue.
