Handy Accessory to Keep the Pool Water Up

The media could not be loaded. This pool water leveler has been a great addition to our pool.
I wanted to use this automatic pool water filler with my standard 3/4" garden hose.
To make it work with my garden hose, I ended up picking up a brass fitting to connect to the end of this filler. (Search Amazon for 57484-1208 Brass Garden Hose Fitting, Connector, 3/4" Female Hose ID x 1/2" Male Pipe, and that's the piece that will fit this unit.)
After that, add some pipe tape to reduce the chance of leaks. You'll need something heavy to fill the top portion of the filler (the instructions recommend rocks). The added weight helps keep the leveler from shifting.
Overall, the installation was very easy. The instructions were easy to follow.
To adjust the height of the floater, you rotate the little knob on the top (either right or left) to raise or lower the floater for where you want it to stop.

Great addition to the pool!

This was easy to assemble and works great to keep the pool filled. I had to order a 1/2 inch hose to use with it so make sure you get that too when you order it. It is a simple set up and really easy to use. The housing is all plastic with a brass fitting for the hose connection. It feels and looks similar to the rest of the pool equipment we use so I think it will hold up pretty well. This is a really good deal and a great addition to the pool. Very happy with this order!
Works decently after some tweaking

The instructions were somewhat unclear, particularly regarding the included washers and plumber's tape, which were not explained. However, it became apparent that certain washers only fit specific places. I used the plumber's tape on most fittings, as there was a leak during the test run.
The water level indicator slides into the base, which requires some material to weigh it down; there is space under the cover to hide this. The 1/2" NPT connection is not a standard garden hose fitting, so I had to buy an adapter.
Regardless of the hose pressure, the unit flows at a fixed rate, so I only turn the valve an eighth of a turn. Similar to a toilet mechanism, when the blue float reaches the desired level, it will shut off. There is a knob on the top to adjust the height.
A minor annoyance is that the water flow slows down as the level rises, so you can hear a trickle of water for a while after the level is close.

I recently purchased the ANDONE Pool Water Leveler Auto Fill, and it has been quite a game changer for maintaining our pool's water level! Here's a detailed breakdown of my experience:
Pros:
- Efficiency: The auto-fill system is not just efficient, it's a true lifesaver when it comes to maintaining the pool water level. It's incredibly convenient, taking away the constant worry of checking and adjusting the water level.
- Easy Installation: Setting up the ANDONE Pool Water Leveler Auto Fill was instructions were clear, and the system was up and running in no time, giving me confidence in its user-friendly design breeze"”the ins.
- Automatic Operation: It's genuinely set-and-forget. Once installed, it does its job without needing manual intervention, which is precisely what I was looking for.
Cons:
- Plastic Housing: While the overall design is sleek and the unit is lightweight, the plastic housing does raise some durability concerns. It feels flimsy, and I am worried about how it will hold up under prolonged exposure to the elements and UV radiation from the sun.
Conclusion:
The ANDONE Pool Water Leveler Auto Fill is an excellent tool for automating pool maintenance. However, the plastic construction might appeal to some, especially if you're concerned about longevity and durability. Despite this, it performed well and met my expectations, earning a solid four stars. If the manufacturer could enhance the build quality, it would be a 5-star product!

Works well for the short-term uses we have it for

We were out of town for business when I got a call from my son, who was watching the house, that the pool skimmer was sucking air. I had forgotten to put water in the pool before we left so I had to instruct him on how much water needed added. It was a pain and I immediately started thinking of ways to keep it from happening again. I ran across this auto fill switch in the process of researching a solution.
Our pool was built sometime in the early 1980s, so it is really not set up with any modern upgrades beyond a cartridge type filtration system. The edges are curved which make it difficult to hang anything from. I suppose it was my mistake in ordering one of these that had NPT threads instead of GHT, but I easily found an adapter to hook a garden hose to the NPT fitting. It made assembling this require another part, but I didn't need this immediately, so it was fine. I understand why the manufacturer doesn't put weights in this to start with, but finding weights that are heavy enough, yet fit inside the case, turned out to be more of a chore than anything. I finally found a weight from an old universal gym and sawed it into strips that fit inside this case.
We only need this for when we are out of town, so I set it up in the well that used to be for a slide. This is the shortest run of hose we need across the patio, but it would be a trip hazard if we left it all the time. Some people have stated that this type of float switch will clog up with debris over time, but since we only use this for a week or so at a time, we haven't had any issues with it.
Overall, this switch works well to keep your pool filled if you can find a place to put it and enough weight to keep it from falling in the pool. I have the fear it will stick open and overfill the pool, but that fear has never come to light and hopefully never will. The Florida sun has already turned the case yellow in the few weeks we have left it out, but that hasn't affected the functionality. It solved our problem so I would say it is worth a try for the money.
