I was expecting a lot more options and pieces, but in all, this was a very decent product. It has kept my son and I occupied on a few occasions, but I can sense he is getting bored, and likely to move on to other things. The good thing is, I believe this was a good starter kit to get him thinking bigger, so we are going to move up to something more challenging very soon.

This was purchased as a Christmas gift for my 8 year old and he is absolutely obsessed with Legos! This book is very informative and shows the child how chain reactions work with legos.
Best part? It came with the legos needed! How cool is that?!
My 8 year old actually stopped opening Christmas presents to read the book! Ha! 7 months later and it is still one of his favorite books! My favorite part is that it teaches my son to think ahead and he is learning at the same time they having fun with his favorite thing, LEGOS!

If your child loves Legos, but has completed countless sets of them and you want to quit spending $50+ per set, this is for you! My 8-year-old child found this to be way more challenging than a Lego set and played with it for much longer. It includes several projects that build on each other to form a chain reaction. It does require some basic pieces, but most Legos enthusiasts would have them or you can buy a basic set of random pieces, I think. Highly recommend this product and we will be buying more.

This was purchased for an almost 7 year old avid builder. He loves to create and follows written directions well. He has had a blast with the Klutz LEGO Chain Reactions Craft Kit. While the others continued opening their Christmas gifts. He stopped and began building with this one! It has been used in many different ways during the last few months. Some of the instructions use pieces that are specialty. Very cool book. Does rely on you having a good lego collection so maybe not for someone starting out. We have a zillion legos and this is fun for the kids to renew a passion for legos and also learn about different machines
