It is all about the passion......

This book is actually not all about the bike but about the passion and love that goes with it. A wonderful and inspiring book to read. I recently build up my own bike from scratch including the wheels and it was a hugely satisfying exercise. I you love bicycles and cycling and are interested in the amazing history, then this book is for you!

Interesting mixture of the history, culture, and mechanics of bicycling.

Through the journey of building the greatest road bike ever, the author touches on some of the more interesting parts of bicycling history and some of the niche cultural groups it has created. While it wasn't perfect, it was a great introduction to the world of bicycling.

A really good book, detailing his pursuit to build his dream bike. As he went to each component or groupset he sought, he gave a good history or backstory of the history behind the different components bicycles consist of, and some stories of the legends, like Compagnolo. An excellent read.
Building a Dream Bike

This is two books in one. The author is collecting components for his dream bicycle and takes you on the journey. As he progresses, he also provides the rider with a condensed history of bicycling from the early 1800's to present. This is a fast, very enjoyable read that I could see myself reading over and over.
