Brings back memories.

Elton John brings a lot of memories back. My wife and sister love his music. For me being a former musician and growing up during the 70's I can relate to this type of music.
Elton John's Extremely Popular 7th Studio Album

Note: Review for 2014 Mercury Records single disc, unremastered CD.

Goodbye Yellow Brick Road is regarded as one of Sir Elton's best albums. CD flows beautifully and has surprisingly good depth, and dynamics. However, some tracks lack deep bass, immediacy and realism.
Recommended.
Still Love it after a very very very very long time. I was 16 when it came out.

One of my favorite cd's of my misspent youth. I remember tracing over the artwork in the interior of the double album hoping the art would somehow stick with me. It didn't . However the music did. There's so many times when I stumble mentally over bits of a tune rolling in my head.

Well this CD is perfection. It's a beautiful piece of work and the audio quality has been dramatically improved. You'll love hearing little extra bits of audio you never heard before.

It's a perfect piece exposing Elton, Bernie and the band best's performance. It's a fave since I had hair!
Another Great SACD

I have this on vinyl and standard CD. The album still sounds great but sometimes it's much easier to slide the CD in the player. Unfortunately, the CD lasts something that the album had. Well, the SACD sounds much better than the standard CD. If you don't have the album or just want to have the simplicity of putting on a CD, skip the standard version and buy this one if you have the audio equipment hat plays SACD, you won't be sorry.
Elton's masterpiece gets the royal treatment
Jeff✓ Verified PurchaseDecember 29, 2015
Elton's archetypical album gets the royal treatment it deserves. The remastered sounds tremendous, as does the live performance at the Hammersmith Odeon. Both are worth the price of the set alone, along with the DVD, which is a nice historical document of the era. The demos and B cuts also are nice if you don't already have them, although I suspect most Elton fans own them already. Finally, the "revisited" versions from current day artists are a nice tribute to Elton, although I'll admit I probably won't listen to them again. The hardcover booklet is a nice collectors piece as well. Overall, this is a worthy documentation for one of the great recordings of all time.
