loom.... potholder...just like the good ones of our childhood.
Joan D. Roberson•August 12, 2017
this just like what I had as a kid... well made...and fun, it does get hard once your close to the end... and the instructions were a bit confusing, maybe more pictures for the completing the tie off, but she loved it and we managed to get it done... great and aged perfect and will grow with her, she herself said once i do a few of the pot holders I would like to make the purse.... so yes great....
Still a good idea and functional too.

I got this because my nieces made some potholders like these many years ago, and they needed to be replaced. I like and used their potholders for all these years, so I thought I'd get this and make some more. I like the ones I've made and they work perfectly.
Fun craft kit- very good quality

Perfect size for kids. Quality product. The loops that came with the kit are really so much better than hobby store ones. For potholders you should always use cotton loops. The nylon and synthetic ones can melt and cause burns. You get what you pay for. Really nice kit with heavy duty well made. metal loom, wire weaving tool, and crochet hook for help with finishing/ removing from loom. Clear written illustrated instructions. My granddaughters love it.
So much more than a toy.

This is a popular activity in my kids' Montessori school, and now I know why. After buying this for another child's birthday, my son wanted his own, so we now have one. You can get creative with your designs. The work is somewhat challenging, since the tension requires some dexterity and effort to weave the loops. I made a few myself and found the activity so calming, like a zen adult coloring book. This is a nice quality metal loom that comes with a sturdy metal hook. This is so much more than a "toy." It's a wonderful activity that produces a useful product.

My son fell in love with weaving when a friend let him demo a loom at a craft show so she suggested this loom for him since he was only 5 at the time. He didn't use it for a while, but now (4 years later) he sometimes will surprise me with a potholder for his Mimi or just for our own kitchen. It has survived the abuse of 3 kids this long, including a mother whose house keeping skills are sub-par and a full move into a much bigger house where it actually gets trampled and abused more than in the cramped time house. It is made in the USA, which is always a bonus for me. The loops Harrisville Designs a-Lotta Loops - Makes 8 Potholdersfor it are also made in the USA and I was told they majority of the workers in the factory are single mothers. That makes me feels good purchasing these things.
