Absolutely beautiful mixing bowl!
I had a momentary buyer's remorse where I tried to cancel (in order to upsize to the 6.35 quart version). Luckily it was too late to cancel the item, as this was exactly the size I wanted.
I read the concerns about metal utensils leaving marks on the bowl, but my own intention is to use hands, wooden spoons and silicon whisks only. I wanted something big enough for hand working dough and I like the fact that the sides aren't SO tall on this. It will also be a great large salad serving bowl.
This piece clearly had the sticker which indicated "Made in Portugal" for those worried about China as the place of manufacture. The bowl is lighter than you would think (for its size and thickness). This is a plus if you are going to hold it and whisk. Still heavy enough to not move around the counter.
The glaze is great and even inside and out. Tiny roughness on underside ridges, but this helps it not slide and I don't intend to use it on scratch able surface.

I purchased this bowl for a wedding gift, with the intentions of it being a life long favorite. This couple will live on a farm, where homemade bread and garden grown meals are the norm. I love the simplicity, shape, & color of this bowl. It will be used daily for a lifetime, then handed down to the next generation. I use my grandmother's bowl like this (I'm 70) and intend for this gift to be as cherished as mine is.
Poor Quality for the HIGH PRICE Inside scratches easily, damage from just 1 use with electric mixer.

I purchased about 6 of these bowls in various sizes. They look very beautiful when they arrive. Once you start using them, you start to notice how fragile they are. These are MIXING BOWLS and I intended to use them as mixing bowls. After just 1 use with an electric mixer, there were scratches all inside the bowl where the mixer bumped the edge. This has never happened with ANY other mixing bowl that I have owned. Mine were so old, and I didn't have a variety of sizes, and I thought these would be perfect, but I was wrong. Maybe they just make them cheaply and charge a premium price for them now. Maybe these are not mixing bowls, but some sort of decorative item, if that is the case, they should be sold as such.
I love this bowl and replaced it immediately when I noticed ...

This bowl is a replacement for the one I bought years ago in a kitchen shop in Northern California. I love this bowl and replaced it immediately when I noticed my first bowl was cracked through and chipped on the bottom - no doubt from nesting other bowls inside this one. When I received this bowl I saved bubble wrap and cardboard so that when I nest a bowl my Mason Cash is a bit more protected. This bowl is perfect for dough making!
