I had this item on the cart for the longest time.
We don't get much snow so I didn't want to spend too much money, yet I didn't want to get poor quality shovel for when it actually snows.
We got this item for $20 :)

The metal on the shovel makes it sturdier.
Came in well packaged.

Surprisingly it snowed a few times this winter and have used it for a couple of inches of snow multiple times.
Very very sturdy, didn't get too heavy with snow but heavy enough to push snow.
Totally worth the $ for this quality.

I bought this to replace another Suncast shovel that we had for 18 years. That shovel had cracked after 10 years, but was still usable, but eventually got to the point where we needed to replace it. This new shovel works well, especially as a pusher. I assumed it would be the same size as our old one, but this one is bigger. I now wish I would have purchased the 18" shovel instead, which was the size of my old one. While this one works OK, it can hold a LOT of snow, and I'm afraid the shear weight of snow will crak it sooner. It works well, but I'd recommend the 18" model if you shovel snow more than you push it.

Does a great job at pushing snow. However, I live in an apartment complex with asphalt driveways and parking spaces, so the metal tip might gash and leave marks in concrete, so that is something to keep in mind.

The Shovel itself has a good weight to it, so don't think it will be very lightweight. The handle is much lighter, so be careful when using the shovel to scoop large amounts of snow. I have found the metal tip works great for busing up large chunks where the snowpack has made it very compact, and I simply repeatedly cut down on it to break it up into manageable chunks.

Due to the difference in the shaft and blade weight, I do not recommend overfilling the blade as it will likely fail after several prolonged uses during snowfall events.

Overall, I think it is a solid product, as long as you use it with limitations in mind.

After breaking my True Temper snow shovel in the latest NE snowstorm, I had no hope of finding any replacement locally, at any price. I found this one on Amazon and got it in two days. It's very well made, with a metal wear strip on the tip, which I didn't have any problems with snagging flat surfaces. The real test for me is whether a shovel can pick up a heavy icy snow load and not flex laterally. This one did that pretty well. The only improvement I would make is to install a heavy wear strip on the rear of the shovel for snow pushing. That activity will eventually wear through the support on the rear and cause it to fail if pushing snow on an abrasive asphalt driveway. That's what killed my other shovel.

I initially ordered this shovel because of favorable reviews here on Amazon, then a day after ordering I walked outside to look at my broken shovel to see what brand it is. Suncast. I was too late to cancel my order so I had to bite the bullet. The good news is when it arrived it was a different model. It definitely seems to be sturdier than my earlier model. The blade plastic is thicker and the handle is decidedly sturdier; albeit heavier as well. The bad news is that despite every companies efforts to make a quality shovel by improving the handle, the handle is never the part that breaks. It is always, always, always the point wear the blade connects to the handle. I have not had a shovel last through a heavy snow year because of this problem.
I can only hope that perhaps the thicker plastic will help with this problem. Just got 8"...
