Anyone who has replaced an roof shingle can appreciate this tool. No tearing the brittle upper course when you lift to nail the new one. Works great to finish a roof when you work in a roof boot or skylight. Don't leave home with out it.

It works as advertised. Solid. If it were longer would have given it a 5 Star. I have large hands so it's a little small for me. Once you use it a number of time it does get easier to use.

I have another tool that works better than this one. I thought this one was going to be the ticket for shingle patchwork. The bar is too short. When I held it to install roofing tac the pry part cut into my hands. Putting my hand further from end placed it too close to the hammer striking point. Because of this I was not able to really make sure it helped installing a tac verses holding the shingle up and using a hammer. I attempted to remove tacs with the wedge but my hand had to be slide under the shingle (to reach up two rows) so I switched to my other longer bar that was designed very similar to the forked end of this bar. If this were longer, I would keep it in my arsenal of roofing tools. Probably put in garage sale.

Purchased to repair a few errant nails on a new roof I just did - I wish I had just picked up a basic pry-bar instead.
The claw part for getting under shingles / lifting nails is too steep and tore the nail through my shingles. The nail holder for setting nails was fine, but setting replacement nails was a lot easier holding the single out of the way and just hitting it with the hammer instead of hitting the Roof Snake.
Would return it if I still had the box / directions.

This is a real nice tool - solidly made. It allows you to remove and /or install nails under roof shingles without having to bend the shingle too hard. I use this for installing roof exhaust vents & attic exhaust fans on roofs. Works great!
