Fellow reviewers, my sincere thanks for all of your help in answering my question re: Presto FryDaddy, "Can you deep fry bacon with this?"
Surprisingly, the responses did not indicate that anyone had actually tried. Well bacon lovers, I am here to tell you that it cooks the most amazing, crispy bacon - ever!
They should call it the Presto BaconDaddy! How about The Baconator? All I'm trying to convey is, how could you NOT use this for baconating???
I strongly recommend a splatter guard as soon as you've placed the slices into the oil. I used Canola oil and other than that, found the max number of thick sliced pieces should be limited to 3 at a time, 4 MAY lead to the oil overflowing. Yup, experience. However the experimenting was more than useful, and delicious!
Note: being a small fryer without a rack, the bacon comes out like its previous owner's curly-cue tail, but make no mistake, unless you are a food stylist, it'll be the best bacon ever!
So, my bacon mates, here is your holy grail of swine strips!
And to all of the answers as to whether or not the Presto FryDaddy can be used to cook bacon, the simple answer is, how can you own this and not have tried??

I genuinely don't remember how I lived before I got my frydaddy. I was a lost soul in the kitchen when it came to frying food.
Since buying this, my cholesterol has gone up 400% since. So I'm getting pretty good at it as you can guess.
Real talk though, this thing is perfect for 2 people. It does have limitations to what it can fry size wise, but I use it regularly for things like fried chicken, french fries, onion rings with ease.
A solid buy, highly recommend to those who just don't want the hassle of frying over a stovetop where you have to balance temperatures.
This thing does it all for you.

TERRIFIC FRYER!!! I am elderly and live alone and this is great for a quick, tasty meal. No waiting for it to heat up, it is ready to "fry" within a couple of minutes. Not having to worry about the temperature is great (it keeps the oil ready to fry). Liked it enough have bought several others as gifts as the price is right and my friends have also loved it. Would recommend this for you or as a nice, inexpensive gift.
The perfect fryer for one to four servings...

Anyone with a negative review best leave the frying to take out or someone else.... I had a 'Fry Baby' for 35 yrs... I took it everywhere... Hunting, fishing, camping, anywhere with electric... I was hasty when I threw it out because after a long while of non-use, I didn't want to clean the thing up and decided I wanted something bigger... Bigger is not better.. I am cooking for one, and this Fry Daddy is perfect... It is a little bigger than my old Fry Baby... 10-15 minutes and it is hot... 2-5 minutes cooks up frozen fried fish, shrimp, taters or whatever... Plenty hot for cooking without that greezy taste... I would not save the oil more than 3-4 uses, your fish starts tasting like onion rings, or the other way around... I have used it a half dozen times or so now and nothing has melted or flaked off... nor did it in the 35 yrs I had my other... I did have some burnt black floaters from previous uses in the old oil.. another reason to change the oil... I can't think of a bad thing to say about it...
Coating is starting to come off

We purchased about a year ago.
I probably used this 10 times or so in a year.
- Only requires 4 cups of oil: Huge plus since we don't have a membership to Costco
- Small: Can easily be stored under the sink
- Easy to operate: No buttons, just plug it in.
- Magnetic plug to the fryer: this fryer gets extremely hot when use. I don't need to touch the fryer to plug nor doesn't accidentally get unplugged.
- Good price
- The lid is plastic so it CANNOT be used while the fryer is going: Oil goes everywhere when frying...
- The fryer itself is an one piece bucket: Washing can be challenging since the plug part is completely exposed.
I do not want the plug part to get wet, yet there's no lid that can be used while frying so the oil gets everywhere.
- The Teflon coating is starting to come off in a year (10 uses or so), which is a huge disappointment
Overall I really liked it until I saw the coating starting to come off after just 1 year, 10 times or so of use.
