Amazing portable music player!
NiharM11September 22, 2012
The player is amazing. There are no problems with skipping or eating of data on the Minidiscs. The sound is amazing, and the color is a beautiful gray. Menu has loads of cool features to make your listening experience worthwhile. For those of you who have used CD players in the past may need some time to get used to this player's tiny, one-line, half dot matrix half box digital display. As of 2012, Even the concept of having all your music on a tiny device is no longer a new concept. Some of us have tried this idea, and did not like it, as I have.
The most amazing thing I think about this player, is that with a certain cable (two headphone jacks on opposite sides) The songs don't have to come from a stereo or CD player, Songs can be transferred from iTunes, Windows Media Player, or SonicStage by playing the playlist after sliding the record switch.
For those of you who want the memorable CD quality sound you get from CD players, but do not want the struggle of fitting it into your backpack or pocket, this MD player is right for you.
This MZ-G750 has a battery life of 53 hours.

Pros: Great alternative to MP3,
Compatible with MAC or Windows laptops with a double headphone jack
Surprisingly small size,
Beautiful grey color,
Memorable sound quality,
Easy to use features,
Long menu list,
3-display change (Single --->/1 Track, Single Strong Bass,
Portable,
Metal material,
Ability to combine, divide and change track numbers.

Cons: Few remaining new units,
older technology,
More vulnerable to damage when dropped than a CD player due to metal composition
The battery ghost drains my power
July 28, 2002
Overall I am very pleased with this product. However, I have one complaint. Even with both the unit and remote locked, it seems that battery power drains while the unit is turned off. I don't use the thing all that frequently (maybe once or twice a month). However, there have numerous times when I have been on a plane (I fly every week for business) and wanted to listen to some music and couldn't because the battery has mysteriously drained itself of power. So, now I must remember to remove the battery when I am done listening. And, I have never had a battery (either rechargeable or alkaline) last for 6 hours of playback, as some have claimed.
Other than that, the thing works perfectly. Somenone said it is a bit tedious to copy music from CDs. I have over 200 CDs I would copy songs from, but downloading MP3s from my laptop onto the minidisc is so easy, I don't even bother copying from my CD collection (It seems that 90% of the songs I download from the net I already own on CD).
MZ-G750DPC - sad and disappointed

I saved up 300 bucks to buy this MD but it wasn't worth it. After a few months the jog (tuner) dial on the remote broke off (cheap parts), and if playing an MD, i can't hear the sound unless I hold down the piece connecting the remote to the unit. Initially I believed the problem was the headphones or remote but after trying several pairs i realize the problem must be with the unit. Not to mention the radio reception is terribly poor. I have a cheap... no name radio in the car and i get better reception. Another problem is when I push the FM button on the remote to start the radio, it either shuts off in 2 seconds, or it never turns on at all, remaining frozen with the flashing dashes on the display, even if I have the hold button on (both remote and unit)! I am ultra disappointed. I never even dropped the unit once. I guess Sony is cutting back.
The best portable audio device

Cant get any better than this. mp3 players are much more expensive when it comes to media. for 128 mb of media cost $... for mp3 players which is a total waste of money. You will only be able to put on 30 to 40 songs on it. Also some mp3 players have hardware problems such as the nomad players. But the mini disc players are durable and rarely have problems. This unit is ethe best because of its features. This is the only mini disc player that has a radio! Mini disc players are just as light as mp3 players and only use 1 AA batery too! A big disadvantage to mp3 players is that on 2 batteries it last about 8 hrs, but this player on 1 battery lasts up to 48 hrs and also other minidisc players could last up to even 145 hrs of battery life. Even though minidisc players cost a little more money, the media is extra cheap ([money] for 10 discs, 150 songs per disc in mp3 format on the mini disc.) overall the minidisc player is a great thing to buy than an mp3 player because they all have the same features, minidics players have no hardware problems, and of course the media is much cheaper! So buy now!!! (P.S.-sony is coming out with new minidiscs that don't just record the sound, it transfers at a 32x speed burner! It also uses the filename of the MP3 and automatically puts the title and artist in it for you! They have battery life in the 100's and weigh about 3 oz and are much thinner!)
best buy on the market!!
