Sturdy, attractive cart
Amazon Prime Customer✓ Verified PurchaseAugust 10, 2017
I'm pretty happy with this--it's made of real wood, not particle board. Instructions are quite clear; there were no missing parts and it makes a sturdy, attractive cart/island. It took me (59 year old woman) about two hours to put together--no extra tools needed other than a Phillips head screwdriver. My only complaint is that the locking casters that are supposed to prevent it from moving don't really work--the cart still moves pretty easily.
Great product!

Great product!! I have two large German Shepherds & needed a place to store all my dog products. It easily stores (2) 30 pound bags of dog food. One in each end cupboard. In the center cupboard I store a large Costco box of dog cookies, 48 can of canned dog food, a gallon of distilled water & other various dog goody bags. In the two draws & store dog meds, bushes & combs, vitamins & lots of misc. items. It handles everything with ease!!! The shelves are adjustable which helps a lot. It's solid wood. So it is a bit heavy. Thank God for my handy husband!! I rarely pull it away from the wall. But it's really handy when I need extra space for special occasions! The ONLY reason I give it a 4 star rating is because of the towel holder & the knife wrack. Worthless to me & they just take up space. I removed the towel holder to make the cart fit better in the space I put it. The knife holder will come off as soon as I have a minute to do it. Love it!
Looks good and was easy to follow assembly instructions

Looks good and was easy to follow assembly instructions. Item came in a very large single box and is fairly heavy at about 150 lbs, so you'll need help moving into the house or garage. On my unit, the top was a little warped for a while and the drawers would lightly strike the top as they were pulled. After a few days in my kitchen, the top straightened out and now the drawers function properly. I think this was likely due to the way the item was packed and shipped. Also, one of the middle doors does not open all the way like the others and it wants to return towards the closed position on its own. This problem did not go away like the drawer issue did, so I think the problem is likely due to the door hinge pin location of this door being slightly off. This is a minor annoyance to me and I'm not worried about trying to fix it, but this was why I gave the product four, instead of five stars. The cart moves easily and the extra folding top section deploys easily and make for a great extra cooking space. Overall, I'm very happy with the look, construction and quality of the item.. I'm a prime member, so shipping was free!!

What an ordeal it was putting this together.. 8 hrs, with 2 of them trying to fix a drawer that just would not fit correctly. It still sticks out a little and doesn't close easily, but is OK now. It looks like somebody got bored with staining one of the side pieces, and just stopped halfway. The knife block has light colored spots that are not something that can be removed -- It looks like something diluted the varnish or stain in a couple of spots. I definitely would not have bought this piece in a store with these problems. I am going to try and return the knife block and get a replacement. Having said all this, it's a nice looking piece and will function well as a double duty roving kitchen island and breakfast bar. I love the versatility of eating breakfast, then rolling it behind the counter so I can have more surface while cooking. Also, the top (which came assembled in one piece) looks gorgeous and is nice and flat. the flip up table portion is sturdy..
Damaged parts, poor construction, NOTE: this is NOT hardwood!

There have been so many reviews mentioning the quality of the "real" wood, one of which even went as far as saying this is rubberwood (a type of hardwood). It's not. Not even close. This is constructed of laminated particle board or MDF, evident by the glaring seams that were improperly cut and still adhered and then poly'ed over, and the "Team Lift", hernia-inducing weight (particle board is heavier than wood). The only real wood is the top, which is pieced together but actually quite nice.

One of the side panels received was damaged, the frame cracked straight through and the entire panel cockeyed. How this got past quality control is beyond me. Many other pieces had minor damage, but not worth hassling over. I'm convinced this was a poorly executed refurbished unit as small repairs could be seen in many pieces. Manufacturing left a lasting impression. Literally. Someone's hair will forever live in the polyurethane of a cabinet shelf.

As others have mentioned, customer service works bank hours, and so I have emailed them this weekend with my original receipt and photos of the damaged piece. I'm nervous about continuing this project, though. There is no way telling if there are any other maligned pieces until attempting to install them. We had only completed Step #1 when we found the damaged piece for Step #2.

If I can summon my Tetris skills and repackage this damn thing, and find a bodybuilder to haul it to UPS, I may end up just returning it.

To be continued...

UPDATE:

Customer service responded via email the following Monday and shipped the replacement parts, which were received in just over a week.

As others have mentioned, the drawers were a b*tch to get together. It appeared that manufacturing had "marked" where the screws go with a nail or other sharp object, but forgot to go back and pre-drill them. We had to use an electric drill to complete the assembly.

We also flipped the knife block for storing cutting boards. Fantastic idea! Thank you to the review who suggested that!

It was quite an ordeal, but in the end, we have a nice-looking cabinet. I might paint it someday (since it cannot be stained, contrary to the "rubberwood" reviewer's statement).
