I contacted MK Diamond and told them the shipping package was inadequate because it contained no styrofoam or anything like that

I waited a week for my saw and it arrived damaged. The front left portion of the frame, where the guide rail attaches, was pushed back about an inch. All I can say is, it must have taken some effort to do it because the frame is stout. A smaller box contained inside the main package had a large hole in its side. I had to laugh because the tape closing the box said not to accept it if damaged or something along those lines. Since it is shipped to the east coast from Cali, I decided to get a refund. I figured there was no way a second saw would arrive undamaged. I contacted MK Diamond and told them the shipping package was inadequate because it contained no styrofoam or anything like that on the inside to absorb drops or jarring actions. I was impressed that the VP emailed me back but all he really told me was that the shipping package had been approved by UPS and FedEx. I was disappointed by his comments. I guess my effort to buy American in this instance has failed. I will now go with Dewalt as my second choice.

Ha! I have owned this saw since 1998! I of course had to get it with the hand truck conversion since, if I am spending the money already....
I have cut the finest Austrian Crystal glass tiles to 24" x 24" Crema Marfil marble tiles weighing 45lbs. Each with no issues! I have cut up to 1 1/4" granite slab down to smaller shapes for shelving, inlays, etc.
Now that my MK 101 PRO-24 is getting older and so am I, I have begun to look at newer options. Though I have seen some neat looking units, I am tempted to just re-purchase the updated version of this model (which doesn't appear to be many changes, if any) along with the newer hand truck kit.
This is probably the better of all units on the market. I've liked it and MK's service has been superb!

A True Workhorse

As a tile contractor this is the only saw I will use. I have 5 of these saws on job sites everyday.If you want a saw that cuts everything this is the one.We came up with a jig that sits on tne table and we now can cut 24" tiles on a dia. I've had to replace several pumps and went to a larger cfm pump in all the saws, the more water you can get to the blade the better it works. With all the new tile now and the hardness you must remember to keep max. blade speed and keep it cool. I would never use any other saw!!!
