Do not stack inside each other when Empty
william✓ Verified PurchaseFebruary 8, 2018
The containers, when empty, Do not stack inside each other like typical containers (Rubbermaid, Glad) They consume copious amounts of cupboard space when not in use. I food prep every Sunday for my work week, These are the perfect size for lunch, slightly larger than needed but I'm not pressing my food down to make it all fit, and it'll hold enough veggies to keep my hunger away all day. From that perspective, They're good, However, as the days of the week pass bye and my food containers become empty, the cabinet storage space requirements are unrealistic unless you have a lot of extra space. When these are empty and awaiting their next meal, you cannot place them inside each other and stack them, so they take up as much room when their full as they do when their empty.
I did return them.
For long term storage or constant storage where you'll keep food in it all the time (Nuts, Seeds,) They will do the job, but you may want to consider sizing for the product you'll plan to store.
Disappointed! Still a fan

Always been a Lock & Lock container fan, bought 2, 1 with divider, another 1 with, but it's the first time both lids can't close tight enough and pops open sometimes. Disappointed! Still a fan, but may switch to another brand, Rubbermaid perhaps!
54 oz perfect for powdered sugar or brown sugar

These are awesome. I'm attaching some photos because I must have spent hours trying to determine which size I needed and becoming thoroughly and utterly confused. I eventually just tried my luck and thankfully they are perfect (I was looking for something that would store a bag of powdered sugar and brown sugar). See pictures.
The best, second to none

I bought a set of Lock n Locks many years ago. Thirteen, to be exact. But I never saw them again at my local grocery stores, so I've been buying Rubbermaid and Sterilite. But I got fed up with how little the Sterilite lasts until one of the latches breaks, so I wondered where to buy those other containers that I've been using for years. What did I know, I found them here on Amazon. I bought this set and a taller one and I will never, ever buy any other brand. Ever.
Excellent

I love the Lock&Lock brand. I've been using them for quite a long time. My oldest pieces are more than 10 years old and are still going strong. I use them constantly. I know some folks hate leftovers, but I don't. If I bought it or made it in the first place, it was because I like eating it, and if I liked it today, I'll like it tomorrow too! The Lock&Locks keep everything I put into them fresh and ready to be rewarmed.

I don't buy sets. Instead, I prefer to just buy the particular pieces that I need (preferably on sale--this one was 9 bucks). I can usually find a space-efficient way to store them by putting the smaller ones into the larger ones. I didn't have a Lock&Lock of this size, but I thought the size would be perfect for storing half a London broil or a couple of chicken pieces. The 54 ounce, 1.7 qt size (HPL824) is perfect.

It has the familiar 4 flaps, one on each quadrant of the lid, that engage the equally familiar tabs on each quadrant of the body of the piece. The seal is tight, waterproof and secure. The dimensions in the Product Details are correct. Keep in mind that they refer to the lidded container and not just its body, which will be slightly smaller.

The Lock&Locks are microwave reheatable, but I never do that. Depending on what I'm reheating, if it has tomatoes or oil, it can stain or mar the container. I transfer to the dish I'm going to serve in, and reheat that way. I do wash them in the dishwasher (top rack) and my oldest pieces are still perfectly functional.

I think it would be wise to heed the warning from the manufacturer that appears in the Product Details, "ONLY LOCK & LOCK PRODUCTS "SOLD BY" AMAZON.COM ARE GUARANTEED GENUINE." If it doesn't say "Sold by Amazon.com" under the price, look over on the right side of the Product page and you can generally find one that is. It will cost a bit more, but you won't get a counterfeit knock-off.

I am a retired engineer, and I think it may be that the simple, effective and direct way that the Lock&Locks solve the food storage problem appeals to my "tech-y" personality. The way that they preserve the freshness of whatever I put in them appeals to my palate, that's certain!
