It seems to work fine. The previous Maverick Pro Rapid Read Thermometer that I had, I bought a long time ago and I really loved it. I couldn't find exactly the same thing after all these years, so I bought the closest thing to it from Maverick. I don't like the fact that it has two prongs. It's more awkward to use than my previous one and it's also bigger and about 3 inches longer than my old one. It works okay and hopefully I'll get used to it.

I bought this unit to replace an 8-year old Maverick thermometer which finally gave up the ghost. After several months of frequent use, I'm continued to be impressed with the quality of the Maverick product.

The fork feels comfortable to hold during use. The temperature indicator seems quite accurate, in my opinion. The LCD is crisp and easy to read. It seems easy to clean, although the whole unit is not immersible in water. The only drawback seems to be that it does take maybe thirty seconds to measure the temperature of the food. For me, this time span doesn't seem to be enough to overcook my steak, and I'm NOT in that much of a rush to let it ruin my enjoyment of being outside.

I've used this fork indoors as well, most recently with having people over for the holidays. It continues to be reliable and durable as expected.

I suspect I'll buy another Maverick once I wear this one out as well.

I used a previous version of this RediFork for many years (5 years to be exact) and it was amazing, accurate, and worked perfectly. Unfortunately, after an accidental bath in a sink filled with water it died. When time came to replace it, I didn't look elsewhere and came right back to Maverick for another RediFork.

I speak from years of experience when I say this RediForkis is well made and durable. I've dropped it, banged it, dropped into a drawer with other gill tools, and it keeps working.

It is truly "Rapid Read." Turn it on and within a few seconds you an accurate reading of any meat temperature.

I really like the display on this RediFork. Not only does it display the actually temperature, it has a a row of icons for fish, beefy, poultry, and pork with columns showing the "degree" of "doneness," i.e., medium, medium well, well.

Also, the battery last a LONG time. I only had to replace the batteries twice in 5 years!

I'm looking forward to many years and grilling seasons with this RediFork.

I'm not a gourmet at the grill but I like to know when the burgers are rare or done. This works great. Easy to read and sturdy.
