Just what I wanted

Love it. Bought the 10 Cup which according to Melitta should be filter size 4 (standard filter) but the cone is actually bigger- a size 6. Too cheap to buy size 6 so we stick with the smaller size 4 filters- there's just extra room in the cone.

We've used it with good results for a pour over (complicated directions) and I use it to strain my coldbrew coffee/ concentrate (1 oz coarse ground coffee per 8 oz water- let sit/steep on counter for 12-20 hours, strain and dilute 2 parts coffee concentrate to 1 part water).

It's glass so it won't keep hot coffee hot for long- perhaps use a tea/coffee pot cozy?

Well made quality stainless steel carafe.

Bought it to replace the original glass thermal carafe that came with the Bonavita coffee maker after 2 of them exploded on me, just like other customers have reported. They no longer make the original glass one so I got this instead. Besides being a non-breakable stainless steel thermal carafe, the other change/improvement is the top cap. This cap includes the (built-in) pouring spout, and a removable quarter-turn cover to simplify the cleaning and eliminate hidden crevices for gunk (or insects) to hide. That is actually my favorite feature. However, keep in mind that a stainless steel thermos is not as efficient as a glass thermos in keeping coffee hot. But also know that this "shortcoming" can be overcome by pre-filling it with warm/hot water to warm it up (and emptying it of course) just before you make your coffee. This makes a big difference in keeping your coffee hot longer in the carafe. At least this one wont explode on you and it seems to be made to last.
