Quality control issue - Decanter arrived with "chip" in it

Although it is a beautiful decanter (I've bought several as gifts for friends) and I will likely continue to purchase them, given the price point, it's reasonable to expect that the product is thoroughly check for blemishes prior to shipping. The decanter I received had a "chip" in it (it was like an air bubble on the surface of the decanter had burst and the remaining "crater" was rough/unpolished). The decanter was usable and did not appear to pose a health/safety risk. I notified the supplier, Cooks Plus, about this, but they did not offer to exchange the product. I also asked them to notify Riedel about the quality control issue. THE GIST: Check Riedel products for blemishes/imperfections upon receipt.
Box was damaged, but decanter was perfect!

I accidentally broke this decanter, my husband's favorite one. I replaced it with a cheaper version from Bed Bath and Beyond (I am not a wine aficionado and I assumed they were all the same). The first time my husband use the cheaper version, he just looked over at me and raised his eyebrows. So I ordered the Riedel, and compared the two before I returned the cheaper one to BB&B. Let's just say"¦ big difference. The Riedel is totally worth its price.

Beautiful, good weight, gives that beautiful waterfall when pouring in wine and allows for great aerating. Took away a star partially due to price (but hey it's a reidel) and also bc at the end of the bottom, due to its shape, you practically turn thing upside down to get out the last 5oz or so. Alone, whatever. But at a dinner it looks less classy and more desperate wino needing every last drop-ish
