It's very elegant. I wish it were a bit heavier but I still love it.
Pretty

I bought this for a friend. No idea what she really thinks of it but I thought it was very pretty when it arrived. It doesn't provide as much surface area to aerate as other decanters do"¦ But it has a pretty flair, and I think makes an excellent gift.
Love, Love this…..

Elegant decanter, for the table

The swan style of decanter certainly makes an impression. It sits on the table, and is taller than most other styles, making it a center of focus. It's very easy to pour wine, from the bottle, into the wider opening; the "tail" of the swan. A couple of suggestions, as to how to pour from it. I like to grip the tail in my dominant hand and using my other hand, support it at the base. That makes it easier to control the pour. You should NEVER grab it only by the neck. The decanter is made of fairly thick walled glass, but there is always the chance that a little bit of torque could put too much pressure on it.
This style of decanter is not quite as easy to clean, as the more traditional shapes. I ran some warm water into the tail end opening, with a few drops of scent free dishwashing liquid. It's best to NOT Use hot water, to prevent any thermal shock, when you rinse it. A little bit of rocking back and forth to get all of the interior clean, I poured the soapy water out, as I would wine. A few cycles of cold water to rinse, and then I carefully put it upside down on the upper rack of my dishwasher to drain some of the water out, and then an hour or so leaving it upright so that the remaining moisture could evaporate.
