What I really dislike is the quality of the plastic tops
Silvia PerriFebruary 18, 2017
I bought these jars as a replacement to an older unit of the Donvier Yogurt maker a couple of months ago. What I really dislike is the quality of the plastic tops, 3 have already broken. The plastic tops for older jars I have (in glass with plastic top, unfortunate I dropped one on the floor) have never failed for many years.

These work just fine and they are as good as what came with the unit. The problem is that the lids continue to split around the rim. Have to keep replacing them. Sealable containers have been around for a long time. Why are these so pooly made. I assume it is the plastic formula they are using. Time to change. I'd pay more for better lids.
Great Jars With Tight Lids

I bought these as a second set for my Cuisipro yogurt maker. I make yogurt weekly and have the jars labeled "a" or "b." I rotate the jars and grab a few spoonfuls of the last jar to start the next batch. The official directions from the Cuisipro only fill the jars about 1/3 full. It ensures all of the yogurt is in contact with the warmer. Once the yogurt is finished, it seem like a waste of space to keep them in the jars. When I am low on fridge space, I empty the jars into a larger commercial yogurt carton.

The lids fit very tightly and ensure odors or flavors stay out of the yogurt. The lids may be too difficult for most small children to or anyone with hand/grip problems. Putting them requires strength to push and ensure the cap is fully sealed. It is just as difficult to pry them off.

Six months after purchase and none of the lids have gotten weak, loose or easier to use with age. Quality product.
The second set

If you make your own yogurt with a Donvier Yogurt maker, you need 2 sets of jars. I always make 2 sets now so I don't have to do it so often. Plus my grandchildren always want to have my yogurt or a smoothie - so the more I have, the better!
They are perfect !

I have had my yogurt maker for many years. But I have decided if I had extra cups I could already start on a second batch. I no longer have to wait until I am almost out of it. The cups are of a great quality, just like the originals. Best yogurt maker I have ever had.
