It wasn't expired and it's gum, so you'll get about what you expect. We bought the smaller packaged wrapped sticks (packs of 5 sticks each) to use as a party favor in the hangover kits at our wedding and everyone seemed to enjoy. As far as personal experience, the leftover ones have also been gum.

Nice and fresh, just what I would expect. Don't buy it if Amazon is the source because I did 3 times & each time it was stale, within 1 month of expiring. This gum is a year away from expiration.
Not the same mild spearmint goodness it used to be

I used to love the old Wrigly's Spearmint gum, but that was way back in the 60s, 70s, 80s. It had a mellow spearmint flavor. This new stuff has the sharp almost acrid sweetness that is just like every other spearmint gum. I don't think it's the sweetener either, because their Juicy Fruit tastes just like the old time juicy fruit. They must have changed the 'secret recipe' for the Spearmint and they absolutely ruined it! It used to be my favorite flavor, but evidently it's gone forever. They even changed the package to be sharp looking. The old time spearmint package was almost all white. I won't order it again.
