Wild Huckleberry Pie Filling Jar, 42 oz...
Tina the S.•March 21, 2017
Expensive, but totally worth it. Unique flavor...like blueberries with an adult splash of tartness and assertive flavor. Good Stuff! Also great on waffles, if you, like me, are too lazy to make an actual pie.
We enjoyed the pie made from this pie filling

We enjoyed the pie made from this pie filling! It was nice to have some huckleberry memories down in Southern California

I didn't expect this to taste like fresh huckleberries (heaven)

I didn't expect this to taste like fresh huckleberries (heaven), but this was waaaaay too sweet. The great things about huckleberries is that they have an amazing tartness that differentiates them from blueberries. When you add this much sugar it ruins them.
Absolutely delicious Huckleberry Pie

Delicious. My nephew's favorite pie and since I was hosting the rehearsal dinner for his wedding, I made the pie as a special surprise. It was a huge hit here in New Hampshire where most folks had never had it. Thank you
Over-sweetened, but decent flavor

I really was excited to find this product. And I really wanted to love it. And maybe because I grew up in Montana, I was used to being able to have access to wild huckleberries, and made my own pie filling.
Truth is, I think this is just too sweet. I get it. Pies are supposed to be sweet. But I think the sugar content could be cut by half, and then it would be good. And I also found a stem in my pie filling. Granted, they are small. But it really wasn't expected.
I think this could be fantastic if the sugar content were lessened, and a closer eye kept on stems.
For all intents and purposes, it did quench a hankering for huckleberry pie. But it also ignited a fire to return to Montana for huckleberry season.
