El Yucateco is my all time favorite hot sauce brand and none of these flavors disappointed. I love that these are actually spicy but have great flavor. They are good for both putting on top of food items as a condiment but also a nice heat to add to recipes like chili. Highly recommend!

Unlike some others' experiences, the packaging was great for multiple glass bottles. That packaging, however, detracts somewhat from the "gift" aspect. Still, a box with lovingly bubble wrapped bottles beats a box full of spicy shards of glass, so no complaints here.

As for the hot sauces themselves, I absolutely love El Yucateco. The sauces have a good, solid chile flavor without the heavy vinegar and salt that you get with many hot sauces. The heat level is good, and this is coming from someone who orders Thai hot and means it. Sliced jalapeños are a snack food in my house. If you're looking for something to blow the top of your head off this isn't it, but you'll probably get the sniffles.

All four have a good vegetal (as opposed to fruit) flavor. The red and green are standard habanero sauces, the kutbil ik is a little spicier and has a more pronounced vegetable flavor, and the Caribbean is the sweetest of the four (although still not a sweet sauce). If you're looking for a good, solid, all-purpose hot sauce, you'll not go wrong here. If you want something fruity and tropical, try HI Spice.

People who are fans of this type of hot sauce will probably like this stuff. One each of four flavors of Yucateco, coming from the genuine source, the value here is really good. Get a package for yourself, or the person in your life who you know likes hot sauce. The heat factor is very high without being off-the-charts, face-melting stuff, and the vinegar/sour level is low enough to not create a distraction, as some hot sauces do.

the green one is kind of a waste of time since it's just like the red one with a different color but it's not so bad having 2 of the best one as backup. the caribbean one was ok but i had no strong feelings one way or the other. the xxx hot one is sort of a sleeper sauce. i don't like it by itself as a taste test but it's better than the others on tacos etc. the earthiness blends in with the flavors of mexican food perfectly and the heat is enough to show through a mouthful of food. overall pretty good purchase. not incredible but worthy.

Very tasty and high quality assortment of flavors to put on the table and compliment your South of the border dishes. All have very interesting flavors. The xxxtrahot might be very spicy for the initiated but definitely worth a try.
