DeWalt's 29-piece drill bit sets now come in very cheap, thin, poorly-designed metal indexes (indices?). I have relocated my cobalt and titanium sets into Huot indexes that are a pleasure to use. I also have a Huot 29-bit stand to keep bits out that are needed for a project. These tried-and-true, made-in-USA products are a lifetime investment. I am glad they are in my shop.

I've had metal drill bit indices like this in the past which always ended up as a mess because the bits would slide off the "shelf" that they sit on and end up all over the place. If it didn't happen right away, the index would bend over time, which would create issues with bits sliding around. This is not a problem with this drill bit index. The holes sizes must be more accurate, so the bits can't go in sideways and slide off of the shelf that the bottom of the bit sits on. The folding motion of the hinges is also smooth and build quality is very solid, so I expect that these will last. They are compact and feel good in your hands, and are also small enough to fit into most tool drawers while lying down. The case is epoxy coated... the coating seems very tough. An all around great product at an excellent price. I bought 2 of these - one to replace the index which came with a set of Norseman CN-Tech drill bits, since the factory index was too bulky to fit into a shallow tool chest drawer; and the second one to replace a broken Black & Decker index of similar design. Great product and would buy again.

I like it. I got it to replace the plastic bit container my drill bits were previously in because the plastic hinge broke, so I couldn't close that one without using a rubber band or taping it shut. This has more bit slots than I have drill bits, but that's okay, Maybe I'll acquire the missing sizes at some point.

The box describes their product as the original all-steel drill bit index box. I have no problem believing this; the ancient Craftsman index box this is replacing is obviously a private label version of this product. The only oddness was that the 15/64" drill bit that fit in the Craftsman box needed a little sanding on the shank to fit in its hole. Otherwise, wonderful.

Much better than I imagined. Bought it because of the epoxy finish and it does look to be extremely durable. Got 2 of these. One for my brad points and another for my HSS bits. The paint on my old HSS case flaked off because of underlying rust and was in too bad a condition to keep; and I wanted a case to replace the stand I have for my brad points. Think they will last a long time.
